This has been a great project. Thank you for everything. I love looking at your photos and your clean house. I'm glad someone asked how your house stays so clean. This week for us has been SO busy, and the house is a mess. I didn't care and took pics anyway, clutter or no. I love the sqaure neck shirt you have on, where is it from?

Hi Ali,
I happen to check your blog on Wed and after reading through everything decided to start on Friday am. My husband was not thrilled, my 8 year old son was super excited and my 2 year old daughter who absolutely hates having her picture taken was beside herself with tears. I got out my camera manual and turned up my ISO to 1600 and my flash has not plagued me or my family's eyes since then. Now being 3 days in, my husband is letting me know that I'm missing something really cute or maybe I should take a picture of this or that, my son is helping take pictures, and my daughter has forgotten all about the camera since it's been attached to my neck for 72 hours now. (which I'm hoping will continue to lessen her fear of the camera) I've also been to yoga class twice and although everyone thinks I'm crazy, I have set the camera on a yoga block and snapped a shot of me in some yoga pose before both classes. I'm certainly looking at new ways to capture moments instead of just with the camera face on. I also learned how to use my remote on my camera (something my husband bought me for X-mas 2 years ago). I return to work tomorrow for the first time since starting this, (I do sonograms on babies at an OB/GYN office) and capturing some of my day should be interesting. But I'm totally digging this project. Thanks for being such an inspiration.

hey Ali - I finished my "gathering" mode yesterday and am clearing out a couple of other projects I wanted to finish before the "putting together" week starts :) Thanks for walking through all of this with us on your blog - soooo much fun!
Now....I need to know where that indoor playground is....the rainy season is almost upon us!! Also - is it mostly for bigger kids or would my toddler enjoy??

So I was feeling a little sad that this week was almost over, but then I remembered that we have the whole next week to put all of our stories together. :~)
I know that this is something that I could do on my own, and I will do it more often thanks to you, Ali, but I am loving the community of people that are sharing right now, and the feeling of being a part of a big celebration.
I do hope that you will host another event like this again in the future. :~)

Last week was deadline week, too many things on my plate to play. Am thinking of doing this starting today since this coming week seems less chaotic & more normal :). Off to shoot first photo of my husband mopping the floor!

I just have to say how much I am appreciating this project. It has opened my eyes to how very many photo opportunities there are every day. I think it will take me a little bit to get into the mindset of having my camera with me and taking more everyday pics but I so so so will definitely work on making that an everyday part of my life. Thanks for opening my eyes Ali! I just bought your book, Life Artist and read it all in two nights...Love it! You look so good pregnant by the way and sooo cool that it's a girl...how nice to have one of each!

I read your blog Monday PM and had forgotton about the project. I then decided that it would be good for me to follow you through the week to get an idea of what it was all about and then I'll do my week, probably the week of October 13th.
One question: my husband works part time and is home with the kids in the morning/afternoon when I am at work. I'd love to get him to take pics but he already thinks I take too many pictures as it is! How can I engage my reluctant husband so he takes pictures for me? btw: he does great stuff with the kids: walk's daughter to school, goes to parks, errands, sends middle son off to Kindergarten, puts toddler son down for nap etc.
There is a huge chunk of time that I am not with the kids but he is. How can get him on board? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Ali, thank you so much for this week! I loved it. I have never had a journal because I think I never have anything interesting going on or anything to write. I kept a little notebook this week and it felt so good to write that I decided to start an art journal. Me with a journal for the first time!

you suggested that we do this even if we think there's nothing much going on in our lives. and i didn't do it because i stay at home all day - literally and watch television. i started taking pictures of the tv on monday and then quit the project because i found it would be depressing. then, the week took a turn for the "something different" on wednesday and then to the exciting on thursday and i now regret that i didn't capture this week. you really never know what to expect and i now realize that if I had just gone with it, SOMETHING would have happened.
