Tags:I find myself spending lots of time on the couch with little Anna in my arms these days.
This past weekend we moved ourselves over to my parents couch on the Oregon coast. It was a great little getaway and change of scenery. Anna and I stayed on the couch most of the time while Simon got to get outside and run in the dunes, in the tall grass, and on the beach with Grandma & Grandpa.
Grandma and Simon also had a chance to make a cake so we could celebrate Anna's almost one-month birthday. Don't you think it is almost always a good time for cake (especially one with rainbow sprinkles on top)?
Good times (especially when you get to wear your striped pj's all day).
Back at home now and hoping to make some more progress this week getting used to our new normal. Finding myself wanting to get some things done...and get off the couch a bit more at least in the mornings.

So hard to put them down, and as you know they grow up so fast!! Love the pj's all day - inside or outside!!
You're all ready settling in - isn't it wonderful!!
Have a great day.

Getting things done?? You ARE! On the couch is what two females in the Edwards household need most right now. The males can do quite well as you know. Western culture is so full of..beans..about getting up and Doing Things when mamas and babies are just fine, just being.
As you say, cherish these moments.

Sitting on the couch with a baby can be so addictive!! Just sit and enjoy, and eat cake.

As always, great photos :) I love how your photos tell a story. Looks like Simon is tuckered out in the last photo. Good to hear you are enjoying a little fun with your family :)

I think there are times to do 'things' and there are times to just 'Be'. This is one such time to just 'be' and most things can wait another day. That gorgeous baby is growing and changing by the minute. Every minute is one to watch, remember and imprint in your mind (and heart).
Enjoy both of your beautiful children. This is 'your' time.

Those couch cuddle moments flee too quickly. Before you know it, lil' Anna will be mobile. Enjoy those quiet moments while they're here. Most everything else can wait. Congratulations on your newest family member!

Even though you feel like you need to get off the couch(or lounge as we say in Australia) just enjoy the moment. It is such a short period of time in the scheme and these moments are so precious. Do all you can to treasue and remember. My little girl was born when my son was just 2 and we sat on the lounge a lot and it was great I miss it so much and it seems like it went by in a blink. She is about to turn 2 in May.
Enjoy and do what you need to make you happy. Wait for some sunshine and sit outside.

Hi Ali - Sounds like a terrific weekend. A question for you: Do you tend to take a lot of pictures of the same thing (like I tend to do!) or do you just snap off one and move on. For example, do you have a bunch of photos of Simon and you Mom icing the cake?

Holding a baby makes all hearts feel stronger and more at peace. Your picture reminded me of my own daughter as a baby. (she's fifteen now going on twenty something) The time will fly, but the memories will stay to be savored.
