Documenting the tunes

Babymusic

[ supplies : cardstock: bazzill; pink dot paper: anna griffin; onesie pattern paper: hambly; red ruler transparency: teresa collins; pearl accent & "09" rub ons: jenni bowlin; heart brad accent: making memories; "welcome sweet baby" stamp: technique tuesday (coming soon); mini staples & stapler: tim holtz; scallop edge: fiskars "scallop sentiment" punch; other: red trim, letter A ]

Following up on Monday's post about music in our lives (and how you can print CD inserts from iTunes), here's the
layout I put together for Anna's baby book. It's a 6 inch x 12 inch
page that fits perfectly into these page protectors from American Crafts (that will go inside a 12x12 album). I ended up printing the collage of album images on photo paper and the list of songs on cardstock. And look, there's that scallop edge again.

Coming Monday: a look inside the beginnings of Anna's baby album.

Have a great weekend!

    hey ali,
Everyday i read one of your posts and wish i lived next door to you or were one of your good friends who would show me your cool new ideas and help me work out how to do one myself, then badger me and ask if its finished yet. That would be kinda cool. I love your blog, your ideas and I envy how you make everything seem so effortless.
But thanks for every post. You inspire me.
    Tracey ;)

    Hi Ali,
I know this is a little late but a while back one of your posts was about a cute Tooth Fairy certificate that was waiting for Simon to lose his 1st tooth. Take a look at www.dreampearls.com Their items are so neat and original. I have had the dream pearl braclet for my daughter for a while and finally got to give it to her Wednesday when she lost her 1st tooth. They have a really cool "Treasure Box" kit for boys that Simon would probably love. Would have got it for my son but it did not come along in time. So cute -- check it out. I have no personal conection to it. Just love it.

What a fabulous way to capture this! I think many people don't even think about scrapping the carefully selected music they play for their babies. (I know I didn't). But it's so worth the focus!

Hi, Ali, after looking your playlist over in more depth and seeing that we share a good deal of the same taste in music, I see a song missing from your baby tunes that I think you'd really like. Check out Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel K. (Hawaiian last name, sorry I don't remember it). The album is Facing Forward and it is simply beautiful, seems like it is sung for parents. Hope you enjoy it as my daughters--and now my new son--have!

    Lately I love...
Here Comes the Sun by Yo Yo Ma and James Taylor, the cello winding around JT's voice is soothing and exhilerating all at once, I thik I need to program my ipod on the alarm clock to blast it at 630 am daily. I also am loving Diana Krall, "Walk on By" the old Dionne Warwick song and actually nearly everything Krall sings sounds like butter!! (and who doesn't love butter!?)

Great idea to document the tunes. I have a 5th grader who has "come into his own" in terms of musical tastes. I have a question for you though--how did you import the list from iTunes to be able to play around with it and change the layout?
    thanks--
    Jodie
