My favorite song for years now has been "Babylon" by David Gray. Reminds me of spring and freedom and makes me instantly happy when I hear it!

When I was little, my dad and I would listen to Tom T. Hall on our 8-track player.
My dad died suddenly four years ago, but listening to one of our favorite songs, "I Love", takes me back to the days when I was still daddy's little girl.
That song was on my iTunes playlist this morning, and it made me smile. It will always be one of my favorites. :)

wow, i have almost as much trouble choosing a favourite song as a favourite book! i go through phases, but my current favourite is her morning elegance, by oren lavie - it has such a great filmclip to go with it.
incidentally, my previous favourite was all my days by alexi murdoch, which i never would have found had it not been for one of your on my mind posts - so thankyou! :D

My favorite all time song is Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp (formerly John Cougar). Anytime I hear it, I am instantly transported back to the 80s when I owned the 45. Sadly, I once played it too loud and my mother actually listened to the lyrics. She wasn't too thrilled about the song after that but I still love it.
