Bing! Bang! Bong! by Sophia Loren. Yes, Sophia Loren. It is from the movie "Houseboat." I have been singing/playing it to my boys on the way to preschool/school the last month. With lyrics like: "Presto, presto, do your very besto, don't hang back like a shy little kid, if there's a game or a girl to be won, do it with a bing, bang, bong" and "one step, two step, step into a new step live your life with a zip and a zing, you'll have the world on the end of a string, if you do it with a bing, bang, bong" coupled with an upbeat tempo, it gives the message I want my boys to have: seize the day!

Favorite songs, that is a hard one. My husband and I like to sing and he plays guitar and I play mandolin. For an instrumental, I have to say "Ashokan Farewell" is my fave. This song was used in the sound track for "The Civil War" by Ken Burns, over and over again, even though it was written in the early 1990's. For a song with words, right now I would have to say "River" by Bill Staines. It is a great song musically speaking and then the lyrics are just fantastic also. A rare combination.

"You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins is a song that will make you cry for joyful memories and cry for the times you lost your patience with your children today. With children aged 17, 5 and 3, I know that in the next 3 blinks it is entirely possible that my youngest two will be 17 (much too quickly I'll have you know). It is a song that will make you think, "I need to scrapbook this moment." Download it from iTunes, you won't be disappointed.

May be a double post (accidentally). I have loved the song "Baby, Now That I Found You I Can't Let You Go" (not sure if exact title). By Allison Krause. Her voice is so sweet, yet it's quite a sad song about loss and not wanting to give up what or who you love, no matter what. Love your blog and talent. Thanks for sharing!

I am loving the song Cinderella by Steve Curtis Chapman....I was hugging my 5yo son and calling him my "fantastic, fabulous five year old" and he said "Mom, you look like Cinderella..." Nothing could be further from the truth since I was wearing an old t-shirt and sweat pants! Guess he's heard that song too much lately!
