This is one of the top events in the country and features workshops from Margie Romney-Aslett, Jenni Bowlin, Jessica Sprague, Melodee Langworthy, Gretchen McElveen, and Elizabeth Kartchner. I forgot my frugal tip-so excited about the chance to win scrap, etc...sorry!
I keep a bin with all of my scraps and every month or so I go through it and make cards. Sometimes I even pull out some of the fun papers and make a grid-style layout that requires less of each patterned paper.

Don't know that I have fabulous frugal tip, but I always stock up on paper when our local craft store puts their whole stash on a great sale.
I am right here in Atlanta and would so love to go to Scrap Etc. Wow!!!

I call my neighbor when I am looking for something that I need, she has a huge stash. (She does the same) It saves us a trip to the store most of the time.
Another good tip is to place online orders with a friend to share shipping costs and split some of the items.

I am fortunate that my best friend is also a scrapbooker ... ( I had nothing to do with her addiction .... honest! lol) so we often buy something and split it between the two of us. Whether it be a pack of embellishments, stickers, paper, etc. It divides the cost between us and we can have more of different things.
I could make the Atlanta trip .... that would be very exciting!!

My tip is instead of throwing even small scraps away, I give them to my kids and they use them in their scrapbooks. They are 5 year old twins and just getting into the scrapbooking hobby. They love all the small colorful pieces of paper.

My frugal tip for the day is to look back at older books/resources that you have accumulated and think how to incorporate what you have into those new layouts.
I would love to attend the scrap etc. event, I was planning on it have not been able to make the financial commitment, it is making me crazy to know that these creative artists that inspire me daily are so close and I am unable to attend. EEEEEEEK!

My frugal tip is to use your stash and use the packaging your supplies come in. I have used the clear plastic for ghost shapes, made mini books with the boxes from my SC kit,and some of the packaging from different manufacturers is pretty cool so you can use it for layering, borders,or embellishing it's really fun!Great giveaways!

Take a minute to look through your stash of partially used stickers, ribbons , flowers etc to see if they could be used on the page you are working on or even add more to it !

Frugal tip: use the packaging from embellishments. Often times it's like cardstock like and you can cut it up and use it.

Since I already have the computer, software & printer (I'm a graphic designer), I save the most by scrapping digitally--even tho I love traditional & do a lot of hybrid. There are so many cool freebies to download. I also haunt garage sales & thrift stores for 3-ring binders to reuse. Thanks, Ali. I'd love to have any giveaway, but especially love the Paper Relics Antique Paper Bundle. And, I didn't get to comment the other day about your album for Anna Caroline. It is so beautiful. I like your approach, too, of making it a collection of that sweet baby's life.

My Frugal Tip: Start small, don't overwhelm yourself with too much. You can find things around your house.....Shoelaces - Q-Tips - Cotton Balls - Safety Pins - Straight Pins - Makeup Brushes etc.....

MY frugal tip is that I save the packaging from embellishments and reuse them to hold money and other small gifts by decorating them with my scrapbook supplies to fit the occasion.

Scraps, scraps, scraps....oh did I mention scraps. I hate throwing away even the littlest piece of leftover paper, ribbon off gifts, tags of clothing, to mention but a few, which accounts for overflowing boxes of bits. But you never know when you'll find that little piece your needing.
The Scrap Etc event sounds fantastic, and I live in GA. Yay for me!!!

I often cut out squares of my background paper of my scrapbook if I know I will be covering it up. That way I have large size blocks of this great paper for future use. I use them on other pages, cards, or my DD makes bookmarks or cards out of them. Also I always save my scraps . I've been using them for gift tags a lot lately.

Before adhering letter stickers to my layout, I adhere them to leftover clear packaging. This allows me to play around with placement until I'm ready to commit, without ruining my layout!

My frugal tip is to take shipping boxes and cutting them into shapes to make mini albums with the bind it all. Also, reusing ribbons from packages, my ribbon stash shows it all!

If I am in need of a specific embellishment or piece of paper while working on a project, I "shop" my stash first instead of running to the store. I can almost always find something that will work with my project, and even if it wasn't exactly what I initially pictured at least I am using something I already own. Sometimes I like what I find better than what I was going to purchase!

My favorite cost saver is MS Publisher. Really... you can plan out your whole page, crop and size your pictures just perfect, and then just print what you need... right out of publisher. I will plan several pages at a time, fitting my pictures onto one sheet, and print. Then I can line up all my journaling, titles, accent pieces etc that I have already sized and print onto scraps.

I am so excited about these giveaways Ali! Especially the Scrap Etc. event. I definitely can go, I am near Atlanta! So excited over here..I have many frugal tips when it comes to scrapbooking. I reuse everything from tags off clothes, to pretty papers that wrap items. I especially love small brown paper bags. I reuse that for making paper bag books and making treat bags.

Of course, I have been using the supplies that I have and trying to get really creative with the things I have to achieve the look I want. Also, I spent some time getting my "stuff" organized - I'll use what I have if I know I have it! :o)
