Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

I just read Black Swan Green by David Mitchell and really enjoyed it. One of my favorite authors of all times is Fay Weldon - I love anything by her.

I just read Bright Lights, Big Ass. It was a funny little novel talking about how different big city life is from Sex in the City's portrayal of it! A quick read, but really funny. It's by Jen Lancaster.

My favorite book is Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose. It is the story of a young missionary bride who goes to New Guinea with her husband just prior to WWII. They are taken prisoner when the war breaks out. The book is her personal story of her faith in God in the midst of great despair. It truly changed me!

I just finished a book I loved called The Elegance of the Hedgehog, by Muriel Barbery. I loved the characters and what a good story, told in an interesting way.

I absolutely LOVED Baby Wise and Baby Wise II. I read the first one just before my daughter was born and again with my husband just after she was born so that we would both be on the same page with our system.. By following their recommendations, my daughter slept through the night for the first time when she was two and a half months old (it also happened to be Mother's Day!).

Oh my, pick just 1! Well if I had to pick just one it would be Agatha Christie "And then there were none", but it also went by the other name, "Ten Little Indians". Must dig it out again, Happy April 1st everyone. Maybe the snow will start melting here soon?

These are all great giveaways!
One of my goals for 2009 was less TV and more reading, so far I'm at 37 books for the year. My faves so far have been the "House of Night" series by PC Cast. They are young adult novels and were recommended by a friend that knows I like Twilight. They are VERY different from Twilight, but I'm hooked.
My fave grown-up book was "Freakin Fabulous" by Clinton Kelly. Love him on what not to wear :)

It's been months since I read a book. I just can't seem to find the time or energy since my little guy was born. However, we are enjoying reading "I'll See You In The Morning" by Mike Jolley and Mique Moriuchi to him. It's such a cute story and I love the illustrations. :)

I love these comments. I'm going to look up "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
I book I highly recommend is "The Kite Runner". Besides a powerful narrative and story, the concept of "stealing" has really stuck with me.

If I had to pick just one it would be Agatha Christie's "And then there were none" which also went by the name "Ten little Indians", because of the nursery rhyme. Wow, must dig that out again soon. Happy April 1st everyone, hopefully our snow will start melting now.

I really enjoyed reading Wally Lamb's "She's Come Undone" and this other one was somewhat depressing but I had a hard time putting it down. It's called "I Know This Much Is True" also by Wally Lamb. I lent my copy out to two other people who also thought it was a good book.
