Wednesday Sponsor Giveaway : Get It Scrapped, Transparent Touches, & Blue Moon Scrapbooking
Get It Scrapped is giving away one spot in Pattie Knox's "More Mad Digital Skillz" online workshop.
Pattie Knox’s favorite part of digital scrapbooking is learning new techniques for creating realistic--as in “I can’t believe that’s not paper!”--layouts. In “More Mad Digital Skillz,” you’ll learn how to create torn edges on your photos and papers, how to insert photos into type, Pattie’s method for digital dry embossing, and much more about making your own brushes, working with custom shapes, and creating depth and interest with texture. Each lesson is accompanied by beautiful digital products from the talented artists at Designer Digitals—including Ali Edwards! Class starts May 25th at Get It Scrapped!
Transparent Touches & Tags (TTT) is giving away two different prizes this week. The first winner will get to
pick one of the monthly kits pictured on the slide show above. The
second winner will receive $20 in TTT transparencies of their choice.
Transparent Touches & Tags is one of the only monthly kit clubs that offers 3 kit choices each month. They have 3 and 6 month kit subscriptions available. TTT also creates transparencies to use for scrapbooking pages, cards and other projects.
TTT has a kit subscription offer going on FOR ONE WEEK ONLY for new kit members who sign up because of the Wednesday giveaway. If you sign up for 6 months, you will receive a fun goodie bag filled with scrapbooking products for FREE with your first kit. After you sign up, email Monica (info@transparenttouches.com) to let her know that you heard about TTT from this giveaway. Offer ends Wednesday, May 27th.
TTT is also giving you another chance to win a monthly kit...go to their blog to find out how you can win another kit and more transparencies.

I try to just journal the way that I speak. That's not always easy, but it reflects me the best.

It helps me to type instead of write. I hand write things occasionally, but I find if I write, I am more concerned about it looking good than actually telling the story. I am more apt to actually tell the entire story if I am typing.

write from your heart. get other takes from others on the same photo. we all remember the same event a little differently and sometimes that different take makes your journaling "hit the heart" just a little more.

Keeping a blog. My writing there is totally "me", if I try and sit down to write, it just comes out all wrong. I can then refer back to my blog if I need any journaling; I do try and update it most days, just so I don't miss the little things. Sue

Word processor! : ) So hopefully my many spelling mistakes with be caught. I don't always print the journal box out but I like to have my thoughts organized before I hand write on my LOs. And of course, sometime I just print it out to then place on my LO. I too keep little notebooks everywhere and I try to write down as much as I can. This tends to happen in sprits, I would like to be more consistent but...... : )

My easiest journaling technique is to write to my son or other subject. The words seem to flow much easier.

My best tip for journalling is do it quickly after the event...
Keep a notebook to jot down thoughts, ideas, quotes as they come into your head, or note them against photos you take for future reference....now all I have to do is stick to that plan myself!
Great giveaway Ali, as always. Thanks

I have to keep ideas on a calendar! I still scrap by date (but working on that!) so it helps to pull out the calendar to jump start the actual journaling!

My latest and most successful is carrying a notebook with me to record even just bullets from our daily events. My daytimer has come in handy for that too.
I journal to put a story to the photo so anyone who looks can at least understand why it's there.

My best tip for journaling is to be honest and do it now. Don't wait for later or for your computer or for the perfect thought. Just go ahead and do it!

I try to write down the specifics or an outline and slip it into the pile of pictures so that even if it is six months until I scrap it, I will remember the details to journal. Too many times I realized after I scrapped that my son said something cute or funny that day.

I try to write as if I was writing a letter/note to the person who may potentially read the page long into the future, lots of descriptions to the reader can get a "feel" for the time that was captured.

I always have my favorite pen on hand and usually also have a small notebook on me.... Not only are they good for capturing the little gems that the kids pop off with they are also ready for my latest creative moment as well as grocery lists, the new book I want to look up at the library, and other reminders....
