I'm so excited it is finally sunny! I like what the rain does for my flowers, but hate what it does to my mood. Yeah for sun!

This weekend, I'm excited because, instead of cooking a big Sunday meal, I am getting away with making a salad and bringing a dozen buns to our church potluck lunch. I love the fellowship that follows. Also, if we get lucky with some rain, I will be very excited to stay in, and get some scrapbooking projects done. Have a wonderful weekend.

The Buffalo Soldiers came to our local library and gave a great lecture & horsemanship reenactment. It was wonderful, heartfelt, and surprisingly emotional. We live near Fort Carson, where the 10th Calvary was once based out of, and the pride these reenactors had of the Buffalo Soldiers was contageous. They didn't even know about this unit of the Army until they were almost retired. One guy saw a picture in a random hallway one day and thought it was Poncho Villa, but upon looking closer, realized they were African Americans on horseback. It inspired him to learn more about the Army, which he had had a career in for 25 years already. i'm checking out those history books this week!

I am excited about the fact I am starting writing a book. I've never thought writing was for me. I've always said I didn't have the patience to sit and write. I don't know what exactly I'll do with what I am writing, but I am starting writing. I am strating writing!
You are the first person to hear about that.
And now I am afraid I will win and then you'll post this comment to announce I am one of the winners and everybody will know what I am excited about... :)

SO looking forward to the Kindergarten family picnic for my son's school on Sunday! It'll really give us a chance to get familiar with my son's soon-to-be classmates and their families (even though we know many of them already!). It's hard to believe my oldest is starting his school years later this year, but I know that I'll have even more life stories to document and preserve! :) Have an enjoyable weekend, Ali!
