One of our favorite traditions is going to the 4th of July parade in Seward, Nebraska. It's the 4th of July city and they have great festivities on that day.

Our favorite tradition is to go camp at the Umatilla County Fair. The kids have 4-H animal projects and we spend the whole week enjoying everything the fair has to offer.

Go to the beach in San Diego. We have visited San Diego every summer since 2001 and every time it has been lots of fun!

We're in the midst of winter in Australia so it's nice to think of SUmmer traditions right now! We are lucky enough to spend Summer holidays at our family beach house - lots of time at the beach, playing games and hanging out together and not watching the clock! We love 'happy hour' too which is some nice drinks for the grown ups and lemonade (in special glasses) for the kids :)

one of our favorite summer traditions is Ironman here in Northern Idaho. We go to a bbq at a house that is right on the bike route and we cheer the bikers on! It is such an awesome race and we love watching it.

Watching the Fourth of July parade with family (there's A LOT of us - it's like Christmas!), gorging on great food, then dancing it off in the park after watching the fireworks.

Hmmm... We don't really have a lot of summer family traditions that I can think of because my family is so spread out sadly. My partner and I try to attend the Illuminaires Lantern Festival in Vancouver (at Trout Lake) every year. We have peopleover to our place and we make lanterns. The event is quite extraordinary and worth checking out if you are in the area on July 25th. http://www.publicdreams.org/section_details.html?trunk_id=1&branch_id=1&page_no=3

Summer is not summer without the trip to the fishpond of a college friend. Used to be just us friends/classmates then, now that most of us are married, we come with our families and it's like a big summer reunion with fishing, grilling, eating and lots of playing and reminiscing. It's been like that since we graduated 12 yrs ago.

My favorite summer fun is sitting on my grass watching my son having fun playing in his kiddie pool. I also look forward to watching him eat ice cream cones....I can't get enough photos of that! :)
