We have been camping in a small town on the coast. I have been inspired by our family time (minus all distractions), our beautiful surroundings, and the cute little shops in town. I just wish I had brought my scrap studio with me. I just couldn't get it to fit in our trailer.

Ok, this might sound strange but at this moment I am inspired by gesso....yep that's right, gesso! It can be used for so many different things, I love the consistency of it, I love that by watering it down and lightly painted of pages can give a softening, opaque look.....the list goes on and oh the possibilities...lol! My new blazing fast laptop has been pretty inspiring lately, but I can't imagine stamping "Laptop" in silver to wear around my neck. LOL More inspiring is the energy with which my not-so-young chocolate lab, Cocoa, still manages to face every day. Elderly, arthritic, and a little overweight, he still gamely walks with me in the mornings, and today he swam for almost an hour before breakfast. What a champ!

My two boys, 10 and 8, have been grabbing the camera lately and taking photos. It's neat to see what strikes them - what they think is funny, odd or beautiful. It's just a fun peek into their little world and what interests them enough to put put down the stick-sword or park the skate board and take a picture. They help me remember to spontaneous.
