Yesterday & Today Begins In One Week & A Giveaway
Tags:In just one week my new workshop begins at Big Picture Scrapbooking:Yesterday & Today.
It's hard to believe it is almost finally here.
And in case you didn't know already, you're invited to join me.
Here's what I want you to know if you are still considering embarking on this journey with me:
• With a focus on the stories from yesterday & the stories from today, this class is really an in-depth look at the way I scrapbook.
• Each week (on Thursdays) you will receive an email inviting you to the classroom where a video presentation will be waiting for you to access on your own time (you do not need to be online at a certain time - it's just one of the awesome things about Big Picture's classroom set-up). These video presentations are not just a 5-15 minute talk about the subject and the layout - so far they are averaging around an hour. During that hour my goal is to inspire you to take a look at the way in which you scrapbook and encourage you to focus on the things that matter most to you within the framework of the theme for that week.
• In addition to the video presentations there are weekly video tutorials showing my processes for concepts and techniques using Photoshop Elements.
• For those of you, like me, who like to actually read the weekly content there will be a color PDF download detailing the concepts and information covered in the video presentation (as well as a how-to for the weekly project).
• Each week there will be a digital element download and a digital layered template (all new). The digital elements will be used as printables (hybrid elements) on the weekly layout and the layered template will match the paper layout I create for each week.
• Even if you will be away for a time during the class you will still have access to the materials.
• The class will have it's own message board & gallery for sharing and communicating with one another (including me).
• This workshop is a chance for you to:
investigate your past through words + photos
do something meaningful with older photos if you have them (or to tell those stories that have meaning even if you don't possess the photos)
tell your own personal stories of success + challenge + growth
work on embracing imperfection & going with the flow
celebrate your everyday life + make sure you are capturing stories that are meaningful to you today
connect with other people who care deeply about collecting + celebrating the stories of their lives
• The cost for this 13 week class is $99.
I am really, really excited for this workshop to get underway.
I hope to see you there.
Want to know more? Additional details, an audio introduction, and registration can be found here. Registration will close on October 7.
And now, the giveaway.
Three people are going to win a spot in my Yesterday & Today workshop. To be entered please share just the subject of a story about yourself you would like to document. Comments will close tomorrow, Friday September 24th at noon Pacific. Winners will be posted shortly after.

My grandmother was always someone I called my "favorite person in the whole world," right up until her death when I was in high school. I have never documented our relationship and want to make sure I do that soon... :)

I have so many stories to tell about my childhood that go beyond putting them in a photo album. My mom has been giving me old pictures so it would be a great time to take this class.
One of my most precious stories, I want to document and journal in a meaningful way is about my grandmother. I want to tell about her reaction when I was born. She threw up the money she was counting when she learned that I had been born and she was now a grandmother. I want to use other photos and words to describe my relationship with her. and what I remember about her.
Looks like a great class. Jessica Stoops

I would love to be able to share the stories of my childhood and my family - how we became who we are today, as well as the stories of my husband's family since they are all immigrants. I think that the stories would have a nice contrast while sharing our ethnic backgrounds & traditions.

I would love to document the story of the house I grew up in. I was brought home as a newborn and saw the place go through many changes and renovations both inside and out as I grew up. I moved out all too quickly just 4 years ago when my parents split with hardly time to reflect and say goodbye. I have all the pictures over the 20 years I lived there and I haven't felt ready to tell the story until recently given the bitter ending as my home. Despite that, it provided a place of comfort, many happy times and fond stories that I now feel ready and would love to tell. It was not a house, but a home.

This sounds silly, but I would like to document the story of my hair. I have big crazy curly hair (and always have). My childhood pics are so funny- I always look like a mess. My first dog was Sandy (from Annie)and everyone always commented on my hair. My son now has my curls...I laugh and cry about it at the same time! It would be funny to document the hair through the years, and now show pics of my son.

Ahhh. Where to start?! Stories about my great-grandparents (who lived until I was 30!), my grandparents, my parents, me, and my husband. Stories to pass down.

There could be so many. Recently I was thinking about documenting the births of my 2 boys (they were both early). And since they never got to know him, I'd like to put something together about my grandfather who passed when I was young. He was always very special to me, and I know the boys would love to know something about him.
Thank you for this great opportunity!

I'd like to document why I became a teacher. Since I spend so many hours in a classroom now, and spent so many in one to get to this point in my career, it deserves to be documented.

I was just thinking about this yesterday while driving to pick up the kiddos. I had painted my nails the night before so I was admiring ;) them on the steering wheel and I immediately was taken back to the very first bottle of nailpolish I ever got! I remember it perfectly and it was probably 30 years ago! Yesterday I was thinking how great it would be to do a layout of that special day. I even remember the color!! It was called Heather Grey!! Thanks for the opportunity!

I would like to document some stories about my grandmother who has passed away. Like how she always served me ice tea in the sail boat glass and she made us toast with brown sugar and butter for breakfast. The special name she called me and more...

I would love to document all the stories and memories my children have with us and their grandparents. I didn't have the chance to create wonderful memories of me and my grandparents because they died when my mom was 16. Two years later she had me. I only know them from a photograph... I want my children to remember their grandparents in a wonderful way....what were they like? It would be a great way to explore my own childhood, my mothers childhood and my grandmothers as well... so I get to know more about them (and me)and document it for my own children.
I live in the Netherlands... I hope it's possible to join...!

I would like to document my journey as a mother to two wonderful children. From the beginning to the present and keep going into the future. I can not think of anything more special than being a mom.
