I dug out my drawing pens and pencils and found the local life drawing class - my drawing skills have been dormant since art school 20 years ago yet it was my favorite ‘lose yourself’ pastime when I was a kid. Now every Wednesday morning is my time and clients and family have to work around it.

1 or 2 mornings/week, instead of cleaning after I drop the kids off at school, I sit and watch shows I've DVR'd. Non-animated, not solved in 23 minute grown-up shows that sometimes even have violence and swearing. It's brilliant.

I ran. I know it sounds like a is-that-it kind of thing but with a 10 yo daughter and a 12 yo son that keep me very busy, a job, and life in general sometimes running is the only just for me time I can squeeze in and it's something I love!

Wow doing something just for me is hard with a 4 month old! Lol! But I find time to scrap with my friends, and a couple nights ago I went to a girlfriends house for some wine and Mary Kay, it was so nice!

Does it count if - you laugh at their amazed faces when you announce you're going off for a nap, and then go! (What a luxury, a day-time nap!)

Although there is a lot to be done at home, with my volunteer positions, and with my new puppy, I took a few hours last week to meet with my closest friend and chat and scrapbook. We used to do this every week, but life has a way of interfering, and it has been months since we did this. We have renewed our commitment to our weekly sessions, not just to craft, but to reconnect with each other and to recharge our batteries.

I ran 4 miles in between all the things I was doing for others, I took the time to just be alone and run! :) Ahhh.

Something just for me...I've been going crazy happy over browsing all the new Christmas decor out in the stores and buying items I can't wait to use to decorate my home.

I took up knitting. I LOVE it....it's so meditative. I've been making toques for the family but it's still doing something I love. I've also given myself permission to walk most days. Regardless of what's going on with school, my husband's golf, hockey, guitar etc, I take that time for myself and it feels really good.
