December Daily 2009 : Days Four, Five, & Six
Tags:One of my observations this year is that life seems to be just a tad-bit busier than in the past. Adding another little person into the mix makes things more full, more wonderful, and more complicated all in the same instant. It is so, so fun to see her face in this album.
DAY FOUR
SUPPLIESAE Handdrawn Holiday Word Art; Prima Glittered Star Vine (I just pulled them off and stapled them to the top of the page protector); Fiskars Scallop Border Punch
Here's what I did on the back:

I adhered a sheet from a magazine (I think it was Martha) to the back of the photo. On top of the santas I included a handwritten memory of how when I was a kid during December when we would drive around at night I always looked out the window up in the sky to see if I could see Santa. Even when I knew...
Here's the before shot:
DAY FIVE

SUPPLIES : AE 25 Days of December Overlay; K&Company Gold Embossed Pattern Paper (I found this at Michael's a few months ago); Gold foil from a Jenni Bowlin kit
Day Five pretty much talks about how I worked all day on Saturday and how much I am looking forward to transforming our home for the holidays.
Here's the original:
DAY SIX
Chris just came in here and looked at this photo and said, "this is so them."
For the main page I adhered the large photo onto the tabbed kraft page (see the "before" image below) and used a craft knife to trim the excess along the edge. Before printing the enlarged photo I added the word art and cut ups and after printing I added the white line, the #6, and one more word sticker.
The strip of photos on the opposite page was gathered together in Photoshop using Katie's Photobooth Frames.
Here's a close-up on the second page:
SUPPLIESKatie Pertiet Photobooth Frames; AE Handdrawn Holiday Word Art; Katie Pertiet Christmas Cut-Ups; Old Making Memories Wordfetti Stickers; American Crafts Foam Letter Stickers; Sharpie Poster Paint White Pen (not sure if this is being made any more)
Here's the original:

How's it going? Did you play catch-up this weekend? Enjoying the process?

Ali:
In response to your stocking stuffers, our family has always had a unique stocking stuffer. My brother and I would get little liquor bottles in our stocking and we have a huge collection.
This little tradition started when we lived in New York State and we would be rewarded for being good in the liquor store -- we could pick a little liquor bottle for our collection. As time went on, my mother would find some really unique bottles (friends would purchase bottles all over the world) and we would receive them in our stocking.
Each of us has over 600 bottles in our collection today.

Ali,
Would you mind sharing where you found Anna's adorable knit beanie earflap hat? We just made a big move from Atlanta to Iowa (just in time for frigid temps and lots of snow!). Thought a photo of 3 little ones in this kind of hat would be a GREAT Christmas photo op and on a practical note.... a great way to keep their ears warm! Thanks
Joy

Lana and Kathleen
Thanks very much for your replies. I'll be doing a bit more research as to what will work better for me in the future. If I end up printing at home, it might have to be next year's Christmas present.
Kathleen - Thanks for sharing the print vs processed info. Never knew there was a difference!
