Sponsor Giveaways : Epiphanie Bags, Meredith Fenwick, A Field Guide To Now
One person will receive a limited edition signed and matted Awake archival fine art giclée print and one person will receive a limited edition signed and matted Swimming In The Present Tense archival fine art giclée print from Christina Rosalie Sbarro (image size 5x7"to fit a 8x10"frame).
Christina Rosalie Sbarro is a writer, a mother, and a mixed media artist (with a day job.) She has a knack for forgetting things on the roof of her car, a passion for eavesdropping in cafes, and a habit of getting paint on her jeans. Her short fiction and essays have appeared in the Sun, Mothering, and the Blue Print Review; with a new story is forthcoming in the L.A. Review.
Christina blogs at {my topography} and spends her days trying to balance motherhood with her creative life. She recently took a leap into the wild blue: beginning the process of making writing and art her career. A part of that leap has been to launch a book project called A Field Guide To Now…. and she needs your support!
ABOUT THE PROJECT :Part survival guide and part adventure guide, A Field Guide To Now is a manifesto for living right now, in the moment. Using
mixed media collage and a stack of inherited vintage postcards as the basis for the illustrations, the book is a collection of moments gathered and tagged and identified—so that they reveal the tracks of wonder and delight; the plumage of heartbreak; the wild keening call of grief; the flight patterns of wanderlust; the scat markings of despair. And like real field guide, you’ll be able to flip through it at random, finding glimpses into the present; or you can read it cover to cover and unravel the narrative thread of present moments that stitches each essay to the next.
The funding for this project at Kickstarter is all or nothing, and Christina really needs your help to reach the funding goal. When you become a backer—you get some really fun and creative rewards—including prints, podcasts, and PDF excerpts from the book, or the book itself when it’s published.
Up for grabs this weekend from Meredith Fenwick Jewelry are two of the brand new Monogram Necklaces. Two winners will be chosen and they can choose a custom monogram necklace as pictured above from the Meredith Fenwick Jewelry shop.
ABOUT MEREDITH FENWICK JEWELRY : As a graphic artist, all things visual appeal to me, especially when they sparkle. I decided to start making jewelry and then opened my Etsy shop in Jan. 2009. I love designing unique pieces that are very special and will be treasured by it's eventual owner. I like to work with sterling silver, fine silver, brass, gemstones and swarovski crystals.
I am very excited about a new line of necklaces that I've recently added to my shop, the Monogram Necklace. Each necklace is especially made for the purchaser - no two pendants are alike. A great gift idea for someone you love or yourself, these necklaces are easy to wear everyday with other necklaces or on their own.
One person will receive an epiphanie camera bag of their choice.
Epiphanie is also doing an INCREDIBLE giveaway of a Canon 5D OR a $2500 Southwest Airlines gift card over on their blog! For more info check out their blog! Only comments left on this blog will apply for the bag giveaway.
ABOUT EPIPHANIE :
Maile Wilson, creator of epiphanie, has been a professional photographer for close to 15 years. During this time much has changed, especially with products exclusively catered toward women. However, she knew there was a huge gap in the market place when she found herself continually wrapping her camera in a hand towel and shoving it inside her purse. Clearly not the safest way to transport expensive equipment, it was less of a hassle than lugging around another bulky camera bag. She needed something practical enough to use during a session, but also versatile enough that she could bring it to a ballet recital, soccer game, a fun weekend or girls' night out. After an extensive search, she realized that my dreamy purse/camera-bag hybrid did not exist. So she set out to create one!
Apparently she wasn't alone! They've been OVERWHELMED by responses! Literally THOUSANDS have written to tell them what they've been using to wrap cameras: socks, diapers, pot holders, sweatshirts, WIGS! Maile's personal favorite (which she thinks is actually ingenious) were the maxipads! Clearly there are MANY who have been on a quest for some TRULY HOT CAMERA/HANDBAGS. Whether you're a professional photographer, a scrapbooker, or just a girl who loves to take pictures, epiphnie's bags make it EASY to bring your camera with you everywhere!
Epiphanie currently has three styles, and this is just the beginning! They are already working on many more styles that will launch this year. Some are still in the design/testing phase. If there is a special bag that you've been dreaming up, please let us know! It's our goal to create bags that truly offer solutions, WITHOUT sacrificing style. Your feedback means the world to us!
