You Are Worthy : You Are Enough : Brené Brown DVD Giveaway
Tags:For quite a number of years now, I have believed that scrapbooking is a way to own our story.
Through documentation and exploration and simply getting the story down on paper we come to know ourselves better. And as my friend Dr. Brené Brown says, "we gain access to our worthiness."
I first met Brené, a researcher, writer and professor, a few years back at our now annual Oregon Coast summer retreat. She is an exceptional woman who inspires me in so many ways, most especially through her concept of wholeheartedness. We bonded over some of our "better" type-A qualities, years & years of swimming, good old sarcasm, and the fact that we both "like our crazy right up front."
Karen did a great interview yesterday with Brené here.
This week Brené is celebrating the release of her new DVD titled The Hustle for Worthinesswith a Week of Worthiness on her blog. To help her celebrate I am giving away one of these DVD's today.
One of my favorite ways to celebrate "who I am" and "what I believe" is to capture the ordinary moments of life - the moments that tell the real everyday stories of our family. Leave a comment below sharing one of your favorite ordinary moments for a chance to win Brené's new DVD.
Comments will be closed tonight at 8pm Pacific with the winner posted shortly after.

Hi Ali,
I went to e-mail you but I don't have outlook. If you are monitoring you may want to not post.
I love the article on our stories. As a psychologist, I am especially interested in the stories we tell ourselves and how we sometimes limit ourselves by them. How, by transforming the stories we tell, we can live more enjoyable lives!
I'd love to write a guest post about this while you are away! Great site!

I have a precious, blond, blue-eyed 2 year old grandson & we have a date together every Thursday while his mommy works.
One particular morning, he was sitting on the sofa beside me holding his book, while I was reading to him and he 'burped'. After several seconds of silence, he looked up at me and stated 'piggy' and looked back at his book & turned the page, not skipping a beat!
There are a million great grandchild ordinary moments, that I treasure dearly! Sometimes the pouf of 'air' doesn't come out of his mouth... nuff said!

Watching my 4 yesr old grandson (learn to) play hockey on Sunday afternoons. It's so much fun to watch 3-4-5 year olds wobble around the ice in their Tim-bit jerseys. So Canadian!

my favorite "ordinary moment" is hearing my 14 month old daughter wake up each morning, she doesn't cry, she doesn't fuss, she just lays in her crib and talks to herself and her stuffed bears, and sheep until we come in and get her. I only let her go for a minute or two, it's just to precious not to sit and listen!

I love when I am driving my car and Your Love by the Outfield comes on the radio. It's an 80s song and it rarely happens but when it does I am in heaven! I turn it allll the way up!

Interesting....I've been thinking about the concept of worthiness a whole lot lately. Weird that you post about it....
A couple of my favorite ordinary moments are sitting around the dinner table discussing the day and laying in bed at the end of the day talking with my husband. Hmmm...I feel a page coming on!

my favorite everyday moment is lying between my two little ones as i put them down for their nap. it's always a struggle to get both of them down at the same time because it's always one or the other that has trouble falling asleep. but when they finally do, watching their peaceful faces, the rhythm of their breathing ... i want to treasure those moments forever. especially now that my 3yro son will be starting preschool soon and he won't be here for naptime anymore.

Walking in on my 5 1/2 y/o son reading to his 3 y/o brother...an ordinary event but extraordinary at the same time. The eldest is just learning to read and his younger brother just looks up to him so!

favorite ordinary moments - watching a new child learning to walk. Good thing they have spongy diapers on or their rear ends would hurt. They just kind of bounce back into a standing position.
