PEEK AT THE PROCESS | I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:
1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.
I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.
After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.
To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.
Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.
As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.
My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.
To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

I'd love to see a set about loving the beach and the relaxation that comes with being at the shore.
I didn't think that I needed these sets but I used some at a CKC class and I am in love with the versatility and fun of using them. I've already bought two sets, so would really love to WIN !!!!

Hi Ali--love the August stamps for Summer they are really cool!
We have disney plans in the near future--so a set that maybe centered on the word "magic" or "magical" type theme--could be used for other things besides disney too.

I would really like something relating to siblings (specifically brother/sister) and their bond, their love, their silliness, their laughter, their journey together.
(I would also like anything with letters and circles!)

Love the layout, Ali! I always enjoy how you put together different patterned papers...inspiration for sure! As somone who doesn't have children, I stamps focused solely on kids aren't much use to me, so I really like to see stamps related to travel, or specific destination areas (like the ocean/beach/water)...and also agree with many others that I love your handwriting, so large words are great (like the set you did for CK a few years ago).

I would love to have some stamps with German words - ok, hard to sell in the USA. But I would be happy to use the English ones, too :-)

Love your handwriting--an alphabet/number set would be cool. I also like the idea of a travel/journey theme--not just for use with vacation type things but also the journey of life. Also more sentiments for card making, etc. So far I've loved everything you've put out so, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

These stamps are perfect. I would love to see graphics that can be used over and over and don't have a particular theme. polka dots, stripes, zigzgs, etc.

Oh my goodness ALI, these are AMAZING! I want them SOOOO BAD!!! I have a few good ideas for stamps, I just have to remember them: camping, 4x4, ledger paper background style, cute homes, sewing and crafty stamps, I use date stamps a LOT, months and stuff. Oh I'm sure I could think of more but I gotta go cook breakfast.

I would love to see more sentiments that can be used on cards, though it looks like the September one has covered that pretty well. Perhaps some abstract shapes like circles?

I would like to see some milestone-related stamps. Things like you would find in a baby book, but with a hipper tone. Not just "first steps" but a phrase with that Ali charm.

Great stamps! I'd like to see an alphabet of large letters in lowercase. I love them for tags and to anchor journalling.
