On The Road

Sitting here in the Philly airport with Tricia working on my scrapbook on the road while waiting for our flight to Athens, Greece and then on to Mykonos for a Cocoa Daisy Destinations event.
Here's a bit of documentation from today:
WAKING : Up at 3:30am (day #2 at that time) to catch a shuttle to the airport for our 7am flight to Philly
READING : The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
WEARING : black leggings, black ballet flats, gray shirt-dress, dark gray wrap
CAPTURING : Playing with a Fujifilm Instax MINI
WATCHING : Rented Man On A Wire via iTunes to watch on the plane or sometime this next week
CALLING : Chris to tell him I love him and to find out what settings I should change on my phone for international calling
REMEMBERING : How much I used to fear flying and feeling thankful that things have changed
Excited to be heading to a country I've never visited. Excited to be seeing old friends and making new ones. Excited to be teaching a new Scrapbook On The Road class.
Ready, set, go.

Oh I have to say I am WAY jealous. I have read and read, dreamed and dreamed about doing this scrap event. Just don't have the money. Maybee someday. Have a wonderful, very safe, darn straight great time. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

YAY!! I leave on Friday. Looking forward to meeting you and taking your workshop. I used to be afraid of flying too. I would cancel flights and choose to drive very long distances and react physically whenever I even thought about flying. I learned about Atavan and got a prescription. It allowed me to fly but I still had the underlying fear. It took years of "practice" flying before I was able to fly without it. Now I can safely say that my phobia is no longer there and I don't need the Atavan. I highly recommend it for people with a fear of flying (talk to a doctor of course - it did not affect me in any way other than to take away a lot of the fear). I also worked on relaxation technique to use and they helped too.

Cool Jeni - and looking forward to seeing you. Xanax was the thing that helped me get over my fears/panic/racing heart. That and lots of travel...I think the lots of travel was really helpful. I was able to see that it's a "normal" mode of transportation.

Have a wonderful trip! I just reserved the book you were reading at the library. I got it on cd so I can listen while I scrap. I get through many more books that way! Thanks for including the title! The excerpts sound so interesting! Be safe!

Don't think I'll be scrapping in the airport or anything..but trying to choose my reading and trying to remember to add some stuff to my Ipod before I leave tomorrow night.
