I looked forward to learning something new everyday. Now that I have a daughter in school, and I still learn something new everyday through her eyes which is even better.

I love that school beginning also means the start of my favourite season, fall. It's a special time of year.

I loved (still do) School Supplies! There were so many fun things, it was hard choosing what I needed.
I also loved English, it was my favorite subject, especially creative writing.

As a child, I loved shopping for new school supplies and I still do as an adult! I also loved the new possibilities that each school year brought - will I make new friends? New activities?

is it dorky that i loved the fact that school was so organized? i liked knowing that there were assignments that were due at certain times, chunks of things that i could cross off my list as "finished"; that there were well-defined expectations that i could meet. i liked the challenges.

I loved the teachers and dressing up for picture day! I now love the fact that both of my children have walked the same halls as I did (gulp) 40 years ago when I entered kindergarten. This is the last year my daughter will be attending this school and the last year that these hallways will stand. The day after school is over, the remodel/reconstruction begins.

Like most paper lovers, I had a fond appreciation for new school supplies. I loved the lists, the shopping and the packing of the new backpack before the first day. HOpe you are having a great trip!

Not original but true: I loved getting fresh school supplies. I liked that the pencils were all fuul lentgh and ordered by colors. I liked the freshness of blank pages... Reading other readers' comment this seems to be a rather common in the scrapbooking community. Pencils, papers, glue... I still love you!

I loved that my mom set up our first "classroom" at the foot of her bed. We had a card table for a desk and we sat on the hope chest. We began homeschooling in my 6th grade year and we also had moved to a new state, and into the smallest apartment. Even with all those transitions, it was the sweetest time for our family. (I wish we had a picture from that time ... I need to scrap that!)

This is weird, but I remember the smells the most. I loved the smell of my new paper, pencils, crayons, and pencil box. Even the mornings smelled different because autumn was beginning.

I loved getting new school clothes! Now that my kids are in school, I still buy a back to school outfit for myself while I'm shopping for them. :)

Ahhh, the timing of this post. I was just thinking yesterday as I drove by a high school how much I loved those days and how fun it would be to jump back to that time for a few days. If I think about what I loved about it, I'd have to say the carefree lack of major responsibility, being surrounded by friends and all the fun that brought. From going to games to racing to lunch ... so many happy memories for me.
Happy Day!
