Morning Routine Scrapbook Layout | Studio AE October 2010 Stamps
Tags:My Studio AE for Technique Tuesday membership stamps for October 2010 are some of my favorites. They are based on two of my digital products: Life Mini Line Stacks and You Mini Line Stacks.
Here's a closer look at this two-page spread. All supplies listed at end of post. Click any image to view larger.
and the other side:
And a little look at my process:
I started with the enlarged photo of Simon out in the morning fog. The photo and the piece of pattern paper are each approximately 8 inches x 10.5 inches.
Along each of the outer edges I adhered a strip of pattern paper that's about 1/8 inch wide x 10.5 inches tall. This came from the same sheet of pattern paper as the large area (great for using the pattern on the back).
Next I stamped two sentiments and a date on white cardstock.
Each of those stamped pieces is adhered to a bit of pattern paper and then finished off with a zig zag stitch.
Adhere tags on top of photos. Add a staple if you like a bit of metal. Add letter stickers, journaling, and just a bit of stitching along the outside edges.
If you're a member of Studio AE they just started a gallery for projects using these products. You can learn more about that here.

TOO CUTE. To show your layouts on your blog do you just photograph them or do you scan them and stitch them together in photoshop. I always wonder as they look great.

I usually do both - for this one, because it's 8.5x11 it was easy to just scan each page and then put those two together in Photoshop. When I scan 12x12 pages I do stitch them together in Photoshop. With my camera I usually take close-up detail shots.

I'm not a sewer. I went through almost an entire semester of sewing in junior high (once upon a time) before my teacher figured out that I hadn't been using a pressure foot all along; instead, I just went S-L-O-W. (She had obviously assumed that everyone had used a sewing machine before.) Looking back, it is kind of a funny story to tell. If I want a stitched look now, I use a pen. :)

I love the sweet pictures of Anna and Simon. I saw this pattern paper in an online store and I didn't particularly like it, BUT you made it look gorgeous! Now I want it . . .

Ali - thanks for the shout out a few weeks ago about the Brother 2600i sewing machine. Mine just died the same week, and after lots of consulting with sewing friends and on-line reviews, I went with the Brother. So far, it's working much better than my other little guy did. It'll be getting a workout with my holiday daily :)

Until I read, I thought the love always wins was stamped on fabric or canvas. I assume this is orangle peel Bazzill you like. It looks awesome.

I love everything about this layout! The photos of Simon and Anna are precious and really convey the love between them. Simon is such a good big brother and has gotten so big. You and Chris are amazing parents and human beings. My nephew has autism and I have learned so much from you over the past few years. Thank you for sharing and touching so many peoples hearts and lives.
