A Family Halloween
It was a very happy Halloween around here this year.
For the first time since I can remember, I had a costume too.
And so did Chris.
I went as the witch from Sleeping Beauty (it was Simon's choice). I ordered the costume from Disney.com and I have to say that it was a really great costume and one I imagine I'll wear again.
This is Simon (excuse me, Indiana) seeing Chris in his costume for the first time. He's a kid who really loves dressing up so seeing his Dad in costume was awesome.
My sister, Gabrielle and Jeffrey went as "Old McDougall has a farm" (McDougall is my maiden name).
Besides having all my family here, one of my favorite memories of this Halloween will be how excited this little girl became once she got the whole concept of trick or treating. We did one round early in the evening when it was still light out for the littlest kids, came back for dinner, and then went back out again when it was dark.
Anna definitely wanted to come along on the second outing so we put a red sweater on her and headed out. She loved it. She wanted to walk on her own and go up to doors and was running around with all wonderful excitement that really only kids can convey.
She was ready to keep going even when the bigger kids were asking to head home.
We also found out that it's true that our new neighborhood is an awesome Halloween neighborhood. Tons of kids and families out and about. Lots of holiday spirit and decorations and festivities. Hooray for Halloween!
SOMETHING NEW: Look for a brand new downloadable project class to help you document your Halloween (a chipboard minibook) coming from me very soon. I'm putting the finishing touches on the PDF and video and hope to have it posted and ready for purchase sometime today or tomorrow.
My son was Indiana Jones too! I can't wait to see your Halloween mini book!

So much fun! I love Maleficent =0). This was our first Halloween in our neighborhood too and they actually had a tractor going up and down our street giving hayrides. Such a fun surprise!

Oh it looked like you had a fantastic halloween. We had a little boy exactly the same, once he figured out the whole concept of Trick or Treating we were well away and he wanted to go down every house in the street, he was so sweet shouting Thank you to everyone who opened the door. It was lovely to see. I also wrote a post about it on my blog too as it was such a special moment!

I love all your costumes, they look great. We meant to dress up this year hoping to next year. We took our new puppy Lucky with us and he was so excited he had to run up the driveways with the kids. I love the expression of Simon when he sees his dad in costume. So glad it was fun for all of you and Anna was adorable and love your sisters costumes. Thanks for sharing this with us. Lovely front porch!!

Fantastic ! What a chance you have ... Here in France, Halloween is almost non existent, very few people celebrate it ... but we did !

I totally love your E pumpkin. I'm always trying to come up with fun things to cut out of our pumpkins other than faces, so this is something I will keep in mind for next year!! Looks like yall had a wonderful time!

I'm a nursing student and I'm afraid I'll be dropping out soon due to my dangerous addiction to your blog/family! Jk... but seriously. Your blog is dangerous. Love the costumes! :)

I think I'll have to send my son to you next Halloween. In Australia we don't celebrate it but my son badly wants to dress up and trick or treat. We had one knock at the door and I put a jackolantern out but that was about it.

Love the kids costumes, LOVE the adult efforts, and love the glowing pumpkins (especially the E). I live in a part of the world that doesn't really celebrate Halloween but it sure looks like a lot of fun. TFS
