Here are my personal answers to the Holiday Wish List Meme:
What is your holiday wish for your family? That we giggle and laugh and snuggle and get all cozy together and really feel that awesome Christmas magic. We are in the prime Christmas magic years around here.
What is your Christmas morning tradition? Wait for the pitter-patter of Simon's feet in the hallway. Head downstairs and get all choked up over how excited he gets that Santa has visited our house. Just thinking about adding in Anna's excitement this year is almost too much for me to handle.
If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be? This is my most decadent dream gift at the moment: Volvo XC90.
How do you make the holidays special without spending any money? Listen to Christmas music via Pandora on your computer. I think one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids (and ourselves) is just spending time hanging out around the tree - playing with toys we already have, talking about the history of our ornaments, reading holiday books from the library and our own collection, chattering about Santa, etc.
What games did you play with your family growing up? We played Monopoly, Clue and lots of Super Mario Brothers.
What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood? Opening one present on Christmas Eve (we do PJ's here - when I was a kid it was one we picked out - usually something from a relative) and having an ornament box. My family was a little unique in that we often went together the day before (or a couple days before) Christmas and all shopped together - literally picking out our own gifts. We'd come home, put them all into a big wicker basket/chest in the living room, and then open up the chest on Christmas morning. We usually drove to downtown Seattle for the day which always made it even more special.
Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip? My parents will be in Hawaii this year and I'd love to be spending the holidays with them.
Check out GameStopand tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year? Simon's a big Lego WII fan and I love Mario. It would be fun to add Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars or Lego Batman to our collection.

my favorite game growing up was - so many!! My mom always seemed to find the most unique board games out there. I loved life but also we had a game called "Dweebs, Geeks and Weirdos" where you had to do all these crazy stunts. I got it for Christmas of grade 7 and my sister and i played it non-stop. You had to check your progress with the "dip stick" so much fun!!!!! What a great giveaway!

I think my favorite game is Sorry. We always have so much fun when we play. We love to send each other back to start and then do our Sorry dance as we playfully mock the others out. Sounds mean but is actually very fun. Thanks for the chance to win.

I love the Cranium games in general but just discovered Scribblish. Now that's a game that gets fits and giggles out of the kids. Super fun.

Monpoly - as kids my sister and I would play long games with Dad. Set up on a card table and just keep the game going night after night until one of us had all the money. Yahtzee is a new favourite as well.

Our current favorite game is Apples to Apples. Our teenaged kids have the funniest senses of humor, this always turns into a riotous laugh session when we play!

My dad was always a game person and loved surprising us with a new game at Christmas. He isn't one for sentimentality but he has not been able to let go of many of the games we played together with my brothers. I don't think that I had a favorite board game but I really remember playing cards with the whole family when I could barely get my hand around the stack that I was dealt. Thanks for nudging memories! It will make a good Christmas topic when we all gather this year!
