This holiday season I look forward to hosting my very first Thanksgiving Dinner for my family. It's been amazing NOT to have to cook every year, but this year it's all me. :-)

I love the lights. With the shorter days and more darkness the lights are so festive and we like to go out as a family to look at them.

I look forward to seeing the joy on my children's faces as we celebrate... while putting up the tree, looking at lights, baking cookies, visiting santa, our church's christmas eve candlelight service, and many more special moments!

My youngest daughter became an angel on December 3rd. We always make a gingerbread house on her birthday. That is my holiday tradion that I look forward to the most. It will be 6 years since she went to heaven this December. The day nevers gets easier. But the gingerbread makes it a good holiday memory.

We started a new Christmas tradition last year and I am EXTREMELY excited to do it again this year--our version of the Elf on the Shelf. Our then 6 year old daughter was totally entranced with the elf that Santa sent last year. She took "Elfie" with her everywhere during the month of December, and we had so much fun looking for her every morning to find what mischief she had gotten into while we were asleep. She became so attached to her elf that she sobbed when she went to bed on Christmas night because she missed Elfie so much (Santa took Elfie back to the North Pole with him when he came on Christmas Eve because she needed to go back to Elf School until next Christmas). I cannot wait for Elfie to return and see the joy on my daughter's face!!!
