Beautiful - my smile! I am known for my big smile and laugh, children have always loved it.
Different - I have very pale white skin and was teased about it when I was growing up. But now I accept it and people comment on my lack of wrinkles, which is because I never went out in the sun.

I think my recent skin scars are beautiful. The biopsies were normal, and i'm so grateful. I'm reminded to take care of myself and listen to my body every time i see them.

I'm half-asian. Now it is just a part of me but growing up it was super difficult. We didn't celebrate my asian heritage and so it just felt like something was different instead of special. I really longed to just fit in and be the same as everyone else, so it took me a while to look around and realize everyone has something very unique about the way they look, little bits and pieces that they hide or protect from other people. Now I have a little blonde boy of my own; sometimes I wish he looked a bit more like me!

For my circle of friends, I'm a bit odd because of my love of sports. I'm also the only crafty/gardeny one. But I'm trying to rub off on them! Thanks for all the inspiration you provide as well as the chance to win!

I guess I find my strength in being Jack of all trades Jill of none. I know a little about a lot and sometimes it means I'm just average, but it also means I am able help with most everything.

I have curly hair when everyone else has straight - or had it straightened chemically. Everyone said I should too, but I stick to my guns and say "curly hair makes me me". And in that way I am different because I did not conform to the 'only straight hair is beautiful' belief!

Hmm, I had to really think about what was different and beautiful about me. I think my strength is that I am myself- I don't wear make-up or spend hours with a blow dryer to style my hair or shave. I am a comb and go kind of person, just basic. I have always walked to the drum of a different beat and I have been OK with people thinking I am weird for just being myself. I am OK the way I am.

Something Different--I'm trying to live more in the moment and focus less on little things that seem important now, but won't matter a bit when I'm old and looking back on my life.
