December Daily™ 2010 | Day Twenty-Four & Day Twenty-Five

Welcome to Day Twenty-Four and Day Twenty-Five!

I am really one of those people that is DONE with Christmas on Christmas Day. Even putting these last two pages together was a challenge for me as I'm just ready to move on to the next thing. I think, actually I know, that's a big reason why I put a lot of effort into keeping up throughout the month - I know that I am so over-it by December 26.

It's time to clean off my desk, put away the Christmas stuff, and get ready for One Little Word, Yesterday & Today, and I really want to work on 2010 Project Life before starting 2011.

Still left to do is the intro page, a closing page, and figure out if there's a different option other than the rings. I'll be back in a few days with those.

SALE NOTE : Designer Digitals currently has all Christmas products on sale for 30% off through January 1. This is a great time to stock up for next year or for working on/finishing up 2010. Click here to check out all my Christmas products.

DAY 24

Definitely a favorite capture from the weekend.

DAY 25

Merry, merry Christmas morning. It already feels like a huge blur.

I love this shot because it's got a bit of everything: tree, kids, jammies, presents, lights, etc.

The ISO on my photos, especially for Christmas morning, was way, way to high. Trying to work with them in photoshop/aperture and not getting very far. Embracing, embracing, embracing...and just getting over it.

For page two I decided to just go with a photo of the family and journaling.

JOURNALING : We had a really nice, really simple Christmas here. It was filled with the voices of two kids: one age eight and one almost-two. They were both excited. Simon was full of anticipation and could not wait to go to bed on Christmas Eve. Chris and I stayed up way too late watching The Cove (all presents were wrapped) and then when we headed to bed around 1am in walks Simon saying, "Merry Christmas!" and wanting to know if Santa had visited yet? He crawled into bed with us and went back to sleep before waking at 5am ready to celebrate. Mommy + Daddy were tired (note to self: get in bed earlier next year). We were able to hold him off a bit longer and then we made our way downstairs after hearing Anna's wake-up yell of "Mama!!!" If Simon could have dived into the pile of presents I think he would have - he was seriously so, so excited. It was chaos and magic and delight and fun. Simon danced around the room after finding that Santa brought him the Lego Hogwarts Castle. Anna's favorite was a new baby doll. Chris' parents and Grandparents came over for dinner. They actually brought dinner over which was a very special treat for me! I really, really missed my parents, siblings and their families.

Whew. I did relatively well keeping up - even after I got the flu and then my son got step throat ... but hadn't blogged until today. Feels good to be finished (well, almost, maybe a couple of things to go back & do). So many ideas for next year. Changing the size is definately at the top of the list.

Ali, it says that all Christmas stuff at Designer Digitals is on sale through today (Jan. 1) but for some reason it is not showing the Layered Templates on sale. I really wanted to get these! Is there anyway to adjust the price on them? Thank you :)

Curious if you ever went back and completed your title page? Would love to see how you incorporated the film strips if that is what you ended up doing. Thanks so much for sharing your December with us. I took lots of photos, but am still working on getting them into the pages.

Thank you for this great project - 6th Jan & I am all finished - I went right up until 31st Dec so am very happy with my effort. This is the 2nd yr I have done this album & I love it. The best part is I used my stash - no new products, even the album. Thanks again for all the creative ideas.

    Ali,

I was so happy when I came across your daily december project. My husband and I moved to Texas last June leaving behind all of our family and friends so I knew getting through the holidays was going to be difficult for me. But I started the daily december on the 1st and finished it on the 31st. It made my holidays complete as I was able to add alot about my family and us being apart. I am now waiting for my pictures as I didn't have a way to print the size that I needed so once they are put in my book it's complete and I will be waiting for 2011 daily december. I just loved it! Thanks again Ali.
