Happy Birthday to my favorite boy in the whole wide world! I love you so much Simon!
I spent a bit of time last night going through my layout files on the computerlooking for stories to share today.When I didn't see exactly what I wanted I turned to the physical scrapbooks lining the shelves here in my office. Flipping through those books was an immediate emotional time warp - taking me back to 2003 and 2006 and 2004 and 2002. I don't pull those albums out all too often, but man oh man they so full of stories and love and creativity and simple evidence of our existence.
I am so, so thankful that I've had the opportunity to do what I do: the photos, the words, the products, the documentation. I don't know if I'll ever be able to truly express how much scrapbooking has meant to me in my life.
It all started because of a tremendous amount of love for one little boy who made his entrance nine years ago today.

Happy Birthday Simon! How awesome to see how he's grown ...... some things change, but others remain the same. Ali I have an off-topic question! Do you find that the receipts that you include in your projects (DD, Project Life etc) keep very well. I love the idea of keeping these daily bits and pieces but wonder if it's really worth it if they're going to be faded to the point that they're unreadable in 6 months? Would be interested to hear how yours have held up!

What a great way to honor Simon's birthday, Ali. This post is a true testiment to the significance of scrapbooking and keeping track of one's life story. Simon is a lucky boy to have these treasures you have created for him. Seeing them made me very sentimental this morning.

Thank you for sharing him with us Ali, we are so happy he was born because now we get inspired by you and all we can do for our family's. It's been a joy watching him grow up, my son is 9 also and I love seeing how alike/different our boys are. It was neat to see these old layouts of Simon, I have most of them in my Ali Edwards binder, my favorite layouts of him are when he's outside especially at your parents he looks so content and happy in the outdoors. Happy Birthday to Ali as well you've done a remarkable job raising Simon, enjoy this day as well. HUGS
