Three people will receive a word necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
Lisa's been a great supporter of One Little Word the past few years and came up with a really lovely design for this year's words. For 2011, "the word of the year necklace is a thick, narrow tag with a large ball, strung from sterling chain and finished with a freshwater pearl. we'll hand-stamp the tag with your very own word."
A simple necklace is a wonderful way to commemorate your one little word.

The amazing things we achieved for and the time we spent with our dear Hilaire before she lost her battle with brain cancer. We gave her the time of her life. And for my family being so supportive of all the time away from them. And the wonderful friends who worked with me.

I am thankful I made it thru another year of marriage. I actually thought after last Christmas, that we had reached the end. But here we are, still strong, still in love. I am thankful I still have all my family, with new additions! I am thankful I am still able to learn and grow. I am thankful for me.

I am thankful for all of the blessings in my life. My children, my husband - that we are all healthy and happy. My family and friends. My job. Our home. Just taking time to be thankful for the things we often take for granted that seem so simple. Yet, there are many people in this world that do not have these things. I am thankful that I am blessed.

The most grateful I am for the Vikingproject I started in 2010. While making my art I learned that sailing isn't so bad, that relying on friends is done by many. I learned that life is about how your beliefsystem is built, realizing that it can be altered by the strangest co-incidences and knowing that the only thing I have to do is to stay open. Being grateful fills my heart with joy, this sometimes overwhelming joy helps to stay open. Being open to all the whispers of the wind, a necessity of life.

I am grateful for extra time spent with my daughter in 2010. She broke her arm the day before we were to leave for the holidays. After suregry and three pins to hold her elbow together we stayed home for Christmas. I got to hold her almost all day and enjoy remembering how sweet she is. I am sorry she was in pain, and that it scared her, but I'm not sad about the extra time we got to share together.

I have two very big things to be thankful for this year. The first is that we became unexpectedly pregnant in January. I'm afraid I didn't handle the pregnancy with grace and joy, but God blessed me a million times over with the most beautiful little girl who is an absolute joy beyond what I could have imagined. The second is that my husband unexpectedly lost his job just two weeks after our baby girl was born in October. This has given him so much time to be home with us during the first few months of Lola's life, time to spend with our boys, and a flexibility to be of great help to me. I am very thankful that he has been able to work on consulting projects almost non-stop which has kept our family afloat financially and him afloat emotionally. My word for 2011 is BLESSING, which I have received in abundance. I would love to have a reminder on such a beautiful charm around my neck.

I'm grateful for my sister's new job! She was laid-off after 20+ years and was able to find a new job before her severance even had a chance to kick in! Her worst fear (losing her job) turned out to be her biggest blessing.
