I just liked Just Ask and am happy to support the cause.
Both of my sisters and I tested positive for a BRACA mutation after the youngest was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 53. Learning we are BRACA positive was devastating news. Our mutation increased our life-time risk of developing breast cancer to 85% and our life-time risk of ovarian cancer to 60%. It provided us the opportunity to have prophylactic, risk-reducing surgeries to lower our risk of getting ovarian and/or breast cancer. As difficult as all that was, the even worse news is that we have a 50/50 chance of passing this on to our children. The three of us have 6 adult children: Four have tested and, sadly, two are positive.
