What a lovely weekend Ali, thank you for sharing it with us. We had a great one too, especially Sat. it was sunny and 75 finally!! Of course Sunday was cool and wet all day but it was worth it for the great Sat. we spent outdoors. I can't even pick a favorite picture out of these, they all are. I love love Anna's little outfits and hats, so precious.

I love reading about your everydayordinarywonderful life! I have a very unconventional, crazy (but wonderful life) however I miss when my children were small and life had a cadence similar to your own. You never fail to put some joy in my world. Thank you!

Looks like you had a great weekend Ali! I LOVE the new light. I spotted it an was admiring it even BEFORE I read your caption. Looks great in that spot! Also - that is a pretty cool dish for coloring eggs. So much better than individual bowls or MUGS, like we use!

My daughter is grown and on her own. But I was thrilled that my husband of 45 years colored eggs with me. He was surprisingly patient and creative. You are NEVER too old....

Wonderful to be able to see everyday things through an artist's eye - and to see the new young artist with her coloured eggs. Every Blessing

Hi Ali this is a rather stupid question but I have to ask it and who better to ask then someone who does it. Why do you colour eggs for Easter? what I mean is what is the significance of coloured eggs and what do you do with them once easter is over? I gather they are hard boiled and then coloured in dye but are they used then for an easter hunt? Sorry for being so direct and questioning but I have never been involved in this for easter and your photos of the event are always so inviting. I would love to try this with my daughter but need to know why it is done rather then just that it looks like fun. Does this make sense? I hope so.... Thanks and I hope you had a fab Easter.

Perfectly acceptable question! We hard boil eggs, dye them, and then the "Easter Bunny" hides them for the kids to locate. I looked up a source for this tradition and found a link here: http://homecooking.about.com/od/foodhistory/a/easteregghistry.htm
After the hunt I usually make deviled eggs or egg salad with the ones that are not broken or destroyed :).
Paula I love your question and was about to post my own. How do you dye them Ali? I have tried without much success. Would love some tips because yours always look so lovely. The Easter Bunny hides little chocolate ones in our garden.
Thanks Paula and Ali.
Ali I always love your weekend in pictures, love the pics and so few words. Always brings a smile to my face.

OMG...I am in love with Anna. She is SOOOOO cute. You take awesome pictures. I love the "sharing of the Easter Basket." Anna is lucky to have such a sweet big brother. These kids are SO lucky to have such a good Momma to. Preserving these awesome pictures and scrapbooks. Thanks so much, just purly enjoyed.
