I show resilience each and every day when I wake up and choose to not let depression beat me, and rather, I choose joy for my life :)

My husband getting out of the Marine Corps. and adjusting to cilvian life. Starting all over by finding a place to live, going back to school, and having a new baby. Luckly we have a wonderful family to help us out while we're in the process of starting the our next chapter in our family's life.

As a lawyer who at times represents children who have been abused and neglected, I see reslience played out in the moments when those kids show re still able to smile, to see the world around then with wonder and curiosity, when they reach out to another human being in a display of love, and wanting to be loved...and in those moments, I am reminded that they we may all sometimes be hurt, our spirits are not truly broken. And that is real living, breathing resilience.

Having breast cancer and beating it has taught me that I have resilience I did not think was possible. But it was not me but Jesus that brought me to here and now.

My example of resiliency in my life has to be my battle with endometriosis. I was stage 3 (almost 4) at one point, lost an ovary and a fallopian tube, came months away from a full hysterectomy, and somehow through finding an excellent doctor with an excellent treatment plan, have managed to lower myself to stage 1. We are even trying to have another baby, which we weren't sure would be possible 3 years ago!

I was able to leave my home and move 3,000 miles away and restart my life, including finding 2 jobs (both part time) in this economy. I didn't give up and really, for the first time, I understand how strong I am.

Dealing with the possibility of having bipolar disorder right now, I am facing resilience everyday right now. Just getting through, making it, and coming out at the other end. I am grateful today for all I have. My kids and husband keep me going.

My resilience comes from being knocked for a loop last year with my brother being killed by a red light runner in March, my father in passing away unexpectedly in July and then our beloved dog (our baby) was diagnosed with cancer and died 12 days later in December. life is full of curves, but I know I am to learn from each loss and really what they gave to me. I don't take one moment for granted and continue to put one foot in front of the other. I will continue to put my heart out there to love and know things will happen and people will exit my journey at times and I am a better person for having them cross my path.

Adopting a six year old and two years later a three year old from Guatemala in 1983. Resilience necessary so many times in association with attachment disorder, marital discord and more...it continues even to today. I continue to try to make the whole beautiful even if pieces of it can never be made beautiful.

What a fantastic giveaway! I am developing risilience as I learn to deal with the issues that my 9 year old daughter is presenting right now. She was diagnosed with Asperger's on her 5th birthday and that was something I initially had trouble dealing with. As time has gone on and have made RDI part of our lives, things have improved greatly. We now have a new label to contend with - DCD or Devlopmental Coordination Disorder. She was also diagnosed with coeliac disease last year. Everytime we get on top of things, something else presents herself! I have had to develop resilience in dealing with all these areas and learn to stay calm, focussed and take one day at a time.

To me resilience is knowing that no matter how bad a hand you think you were dealt someone somewhere has a more difficult hand to play with.

This is a generous and beautiful giveaway, Ali. Thanks for the opportunity. You know, it's easier to think of other people in my life as strong, determined and amazing. I don't usually see myself in that light. I will say, I am proud to have overcome -- it only took a decade -- the intense sense of worthlessness I carried around after my parents decided they didn't want to be my parents anymore thanks to brainwashing from the religion they call their own. Today, I feel value in myself, and I don't feel "less than" because of the choices they've made. I'm happy, whole and okay with who I am!

Being a mom to 2 small boys, a wife, a friend, and a daughter to parents that have recently separated. It is so tough somedays and other days are better/good. Each day offers challenges but being able to carry on and do the best I can one day at a time. Trying to be a better mom and wife and remembering that I cannot change some things going on in my life, but to make the best of it and do the best I can.

Life is not always easy, but it's the attitude in how we get through the day to day that really counts - for me, I always try to be optimistic and believe that things happen for a reason.
After a pretty messy breakup & a very sad passing of my 8 month old niece; I thought maybe I should move back home to be closer to my family to start the healing process.,
I moved in with my sister to help her as she found out she was pregnant with my niece 2 years after my first niece passed away suddenly at 8 months old from a rare disease.
I was mending my broken heart and had promised to stay in the area for 1 year to help her before moving out on my own again; yet instead, before the year was up, my sister convinced me to take a risk and I met my fiance who I've been with 8 years.
I never thought life could be as hard as it was when I moved in with my sister, but the pay off has been so many precious moments as my healthy, beautiful soon to be 9 year old niece teaches me how wonderful life is on a daily basis.
Thanks for the chance to win this giveaway Ali :D

I have been given resilience as a gift from God. I had secondary infertility (got prego 1st try with #1 and #2 took 2 years and numerous surgeries to figure things out). That made me question what God's plan was for me and my life, but now I am a proud mommy of 3 wonderful boys and I could not be any happier! I am thankful for the infertility as it taught me to lean more on God and His love and how He can get me through anything.
