It's so hard to say why I might be exceptional because I don't like to toot my own horn. It's so much easier to compliment others! I guess the thing I'm really good at is raising my two daughters - one of whom has learning challenges. Actually, though, they are exceptional. They teach me so much!

Holy crayola! What generous giveaways. I make a fabulous gumdrop cake and amazing seafood chowder; gifted recipes passed down to me by my Grandmother and Mother. Keeping up with crafty traditions in my family also makes me feel special. I just hope that my daughter continues those traditions as she gets older.

People say that I'm very patient. I feel that's not really true, I tend to be impatient when it doesn't matter. However, in times when patience is needed I have boatloads of it.

I guess the thing that is special about me is that I try to take time to get to know all the little things about the members of my family-extended family, too-not just my immediate one. I try to talk to all the kids one-on-one, not just push them to the background, like so many do.

As a teacher, mother, friend and sister I have always been known as the one who nurtures and encourages you to be your own special you. My oldest son is now 21 and I stand in awe of the man he is becoming!!

My family tells me that I am the glue that holds the family together. We have three adult children (our fourth and oldest passed away 4 years ago) and 7 grandchildren, two of whom we've been rearing for 8 1/2 years. Family is very important to me and I do try to ensure we spend good quality time together even though one daughter and her family live in Ghana, my son and his family are a 2 1/2 hour drive away, and the other daughter and her family live 10 minutes away.

Something exceptional about me is that I foster homeless cats, and I specialize in the older, even senior, ones. My vet has even said I have an unusual ability to care for aging pets. ... I don't usually take the time to try for giveaways (because I'm one of those who never seems to win anything), but what the heck. Thought I'd give it a shot this time. There are so many good ones! Something special about me is that even though I'm a very picky eater I managed to raise two children (now 23 and 21) who will try everything, and have a small list of foods that they won't eat. :)

I am a giver. I almost give too much where I can get hurt very easily. I've come to realize that not everyone else is like me and I can't expect others to give me as much (that I might think that I deserve).

People are always telling me I have an infectious laugh! When I hear that it makes me smile becaue I hope that Im making someone either smile or laught themselves. Im enjoying this journey that Im on and there are days that are better than others and laughing always keeps me going!

I am raising my ex-husband's children so they didn't have to go into foster care. One of the children has cerebral palsy. Life can be challenging, but the LOVE is so rewarding!

I am exceptional at knowing where everything is in the house and beyond (or at least I can work out where things should be/could be) I can answer "have you seen my...."
