Love You Good | Scrapbook Layout
Tags:I put this layout together celebrating Anna and Gabrielle as a challenge for Cocoa Daisy's Fall Crop.
The challenge was simple: go big with your type.
I love type. Big love. I love when the words (especially ones that relate to the story being told) can become the art.
Here's a look at my layout:
I've been wanting to use that background paper for awhile (Fancy Pants Spring Fever). Lots and lots of little type which ends up being a nice contrast with the large stamping above the journaling.
Using the See And Stamp Jumbo letter stamps (they really are big - about 1 inch tall) I stamped friends and cousins a few times. When the word I was stamping came to the edge of the page I just moved down to the next line and continued on.
Below the stamped friends and cousins I added some of the plastic Tim Holtz Ransom alphas. Have you tried these yet? I used them in my Italy Scrapbook On The Road (need to finish that up) on top of the page protectors and they worked really well.
And underneath the plastic alphas I stamped a few sentiments. I repeated "you are simply the best" from my Dad Rocks stamp set and highlighted the last one with a different color ink. The other sentiment stamp I used was tucked right in between the plastic letters and "you are simply the best." It's a line that says "this day. this moment. this story. this life. " and is from my Favorite Memories set.
On top of the jumbo letter stamps I added a Jenni Bowlin butterfly rub on and used one of Tim's metal number 2's.
I stitched, with my sewing machine, around the edge of the photo and journaling area.
Along the top left side of the photo I added some word stickers from October Afternoon. I'm pretty sure these are my favorite little word stickers out there right now.
And in case you're wondering why I journaled with two different pens it's because I started with one and decided it was too thin. I finished the sentence/thought and then started with a thicker pen. Sometimes that's just the way it goes!
Check back tomorrow for another new layout (two in one week, I know, it's been awhile).

very sweet! i like the use of the two different pens and wouldn't have known it wasn't planned...cute picture...just goes to show that we don't need to capture faces in all pics to convey emotions...lucky little girls to have each other!

Beautiful layout. The photo of their embrace makes such an impact to the layout as does the large letters.

I am just kind of curious. Has your handwriting always looked that way, or did you change your handwriting when you started scrapbooking?

Hi Kelsey - I think it's always had it's own look (and then evolved over time and continues to morph and change). I was the kid that used to write out alphabets over and over for fun and have always loved taking notes in class - loved any sort of pen to paper activity.
I love your handwriting. I have never loved my own. However, I am the transitional generation. I don't think any of my school papers were hand written from like 3rd grade on. Kind of crazy. Thanks for sharing your handwriting. It is truly art!
