Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

Beautiful layout. I love how you keep designs simple yet they still have a lot of impact! A great use of the background stamp.

That would be baking cookies. I just love to do that every year and then divvy them up and take to family and friends. This year I want to record one of our family recipes as I want to make sure it will be saved.

Beautiful page, what a sweet picture of Anna. My favorite holiday tradition would be sending out my hand made cards. I love thinking about the person as I make the cards.

As our children have become adults and live away we still try to be together on Christmas Eve...and Christmas day...we live 5-8 hours from our extended families and when we stopped the hectic travel when our children got older, each year we learned to savor the time together. We have recently added a new Christmas day tradition...cleaning up after the meal that our church serves for shut ins and any one else in the community who wants a good meal and friendship...since the inception of this tradition at our church (4 years ago) more and more people come to the church to eat and share in the joy!

First I have to say I love how you made that background paper! That is such a great idea. As for my family tradition, my daughter and I have one that is just silly. On Christmas morning we have cinnabons hot from the oven (that is not the silly part!) but when we open our presents we have to wear the decoration that was on the package. Mostly the bows end up on our heads, but by the time we are done, WE look like the packages and we take pictures of ourselves all decorated. It is just silly fun!

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is spending the day with family and eating my mom's famous homemade noodles. They are the best. I also make a Swedish pastry an old neighbor used to bring us each year. She's passed on but I make it each year in honor of her (Milly).

No particular tradition sticks out as a favorite. I would say instead that my favorite thing about the holidays is family and friends making great efforts to get together/make contact. It is nice that no matter how busy the year is everyone makes time to catch-up and enjoy each other.

My favorite family tradition is when the kids and I make handmade ornaments for our tree. When the kids move out they can take their "set" of ornaments they have made through the years to use for their tree and already have lots of fun memories.

I'm excited about these new colors for inking backgrounds! We love to gather as a family and decorate sugar cookies together. Now we have added a son-in-law to the fun!

Love the new zig zag stamp. I can see that would really be neat for some fun backgrounds. I like how you used two different colors. TFS
