Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My favorite holiday tradition is reading the Christmas story before we open gifts. Such a great reminder of why we are truly celebrating.

Oh what fun...new goodies! I'd love to give one of your sets a good, inky home. Great layout, Anna is adorable. what a sweet smile. Favorite Holiday traditions...there are lots, but one happened just today. I help my Mom decorate her tree, we remember and comment on each ornament as it goes on the tree. Some bittersweet as the person who gave it to her is no longer with us, but it's great to remember them. Anyway enough blathering! Thanks for the chance,
R/

Love the page you did - how clever the background was I never would have guessed you had made it with a stamp! My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies to give to family and friends. My 10 year old daughter is going to help me this year and we're hoping to make 17 different kinds (if we don't run out of time.) Thanks for the chance to win some Hero Arts stamps!

My boys are 17 and 20 and this year. I've been thinking A LOT about letting go of our family traditions - mostly because my oldest has moved into a house at school and doesn't come home as often as in the past simply because he has created a "nest" for himself and my youngest will be going to college himself soon. So, it's a private joy for me that you've asked this question today and I can say with such a thrill that our tradition - which we will do again this year! - is driving to a local neighborhood to look at their Christmas lights and decorations. When the boys were little, they'd go in their pjs, with lots of quilts and pillows. We'd take a Thermos of hot chocolate, turn up the heater so we could roll down the windows and turn the radio to a Christmas carol station. These days, it's practically the same though we don't wear pjs anymore. It's absolutely one of our most cherished traditions.

My favorite holiday tradition is lighting the Advent Candles on Sundays...it's a chance to be still as a family and focus on why we celebrate Christmas. :)

my favorite holiday tradition is playing Whovilleopoly on Christmas Eve with our family. WE have done it ever since my daughter was old enough to play games and she's 23 now and living on her own, but she still makes plans to come and play on Christmas Eve which makes it even more special now.

My favorite holiday tradition is just being together on Christmas eve, the whole family, after Christmas mass, having dinner, then waiting to open the gifts!

My Christmas tradition is not labeling the gifts.. then the kids can't peek, because they don't know which one is theirs!

I had to think about this one a little. We have tons of holiday traditions. Some w/my extended family, some w/my Husband's extended family, some of our own... but my favorite tradition is coming together in the family room to watch Christmas movies. My fav is White Christmas, my Husband's fav is Die Hard and my son's is A Christmas Story.
