IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My fave tradition is heading out to Pike Ntl. Forest to get our tree. I grew up in Chicago, so cutting down a tree, having a bonfire with hotdogs and hot cocoa amongst friends, tying the tree to our car roof, and driving in a long line of cars with trees on them is just awesome for me. I love that this is normal for my son!

My favorite holiday tradition is by far baking cookies with my little girl wearing our aprons. Nothing beats the smells, the laughter and the mess. :)
Thanks for the opportunity!

I would have never thought to use the zigzag pattern as an overall pattern. Amazing in two different colors...almost like texture.

Wonderful layout. We don't celebrate Christmas so we don't really have any traditions. But I do love the atmosphere at this time of the years.

Making fun things for Christmas is my favorite tradition...new stockings for all the new little people in the family (3 this year), handmade cards for my elderly aunts & uncles who live far away, and the annual cookie bake in honor of my mom who LOVED to make Christmas cookies with all the gals in her life. Thanks for asking...I'm smiling :-)

Lovely design. My favorite holiday tradition is to load the kids in the car and go visit the neighborhoods with lots of lights. Afterwards we go to dinner somewhere we don't often go. We have been doing this since our kids were little. Now they are teenagers!!
