Hi Ali!
I´m on my third year with OLW and I had the hardest time ever to choose a word for this year. For 2011 I chose "fresh",but the last year came to be one of our WORST years ever as a family. I keep thinking that maybe this year we will se some good coming from all the pain and sorrow that we´ve been dealing with.
So for this year I´m sticking with "HAPPY" and hoping that things will settle down and get closure on some things. At least that´s what I´ve chosen right now....

Hi Ali, I am surprised not to see my word. I picked (or the word picked me) a word that is so simple I thought it would be on your list for sure!
My word for 2012 is: 'New'
Replies
New - is the word that I picked also. I thought about restore....but there are some things I wish not to have restored....so NEW it was!

My one little word is Balance- with a full time career as part of a hospital administrative team, volunteer director of a free health clinic and completing 14 hours of post grad work in 2012 I have to focus in balance. Balance will mean time for me and my family. Time to spend not only giving but receiving makes balance.

Great word. I thought that my word was going to be Balance... but Grace kept nudging me, so Grace it is. However, for me, achieving a state of grace will come from achieving better balance in my life... reducing the chaos and the frenzy or rather, not reacting to it so that I can be more calm and centred... happy journeying with your word!

The list of words is intriguing making me want to go back and read the comments associated with them. I've tried in the past to choose a word, but they all felt forced. This year's word - RESUME - came to me during an internal monologue. I was thinking about a number of things and how I need to get my backside (I used a different word in my thoughts.) into gear and get back to all of the things I've left hanging. RESUME seemed a much more positive way of thinking about that approach/task. Happy new year!

My word for 2012: clear
I like that it is a verb and an adjective - both uses have meaning for me. I want to "clear" out the clutter and detrius that does not add to my life, while being more "clear" on my goals and the priorities in my life.
It took me a while to come up with this year's word, but now I am in "word love"
Some of my past words ...
2011: content
2010: edit
2009: purpose
2008: bliss

Love it! This my first year with OLW. My "theme" is get organized... but physically and emotionally. I was thinking of "release" and then started to favor "free", but your word "clear" mightvwork as well. I'm learning so much through this process thanks for sharing!!

Hi Ali, my 'one little word' is POSITIVITY, so not really a little word but the one I have chosen to inspire me in your project. I have been reading your blog and intending to join in this each year but this is the first time I have actually stopped procrastinating long enough to do it - thankyou for the inspiration xxx

Mine is TOGETHER. When your children are young, we put our main focus on them; but as you get older, they don't need you as much and so often you are at a loss. Now with the kids "gone," I would like to focus once more on my husband & I. Therefore, my choice is TOGETHER.

Love the list...been trying to figure mine out. I'm going with Purpose. Need to remember to find my purpose in who I am and to do things with a purpose.

SUPPORT was my word last year and it was a tough one. I'm carrying it over into this year as well.

I also didn't post mine, just thought of it yesterday. PROMISE, I want to remember the promises of scripture that can help me through anything, anytime. Kathy
