Great idea using the washi tape for holding things together in addition to being a decorative element!

LOVE LOVE the little flap, so cute and handy too. We still laugh at how we ended up years ago going from a REAL tree to a FAKE tree. My poor husband was in shock but now he's so ok with it, a little too ok. I wanted a real tree this year and somehow we put up the fake tree again. I'm going to make sure next year to have a real tree though, even if I sneak it when he's at work.

One year I had a picture much like this in my December Daily and my boys saw one if their Christmas gifts. If that Lego Star Wars is for Simon you may want to hold out on showing him this picture!

I tried to get the fake tree approved by the boys this year. They were all opposed, but my 12 year old, Samuel,was offended at the mere suggestion of a fake tree. "MOM! Why would you even ask that??"

I love the smell of a real tree. I still love a big old fake one with a candle burning in the background!

love this - Ali I'm having a hard time getting December Daily 2012 4x6 Overlays to print 4x6 - I am using the PDF to print the full set. But they are either printing too large or two small. Any thoughts?

I think artificial trees are easier to decorate and SEE the ornaments once they are hung. Yay for something new!

I love how your DD is coming along. The variety really adds interest to the overall album. I've never had a "live" Christmas tree, but I heard how nice it smells in the home. I've decided to get a "live" garland to decorate the stairwell as a way to get that pine fragrance in the home for the holidays. Thanks for sharing your layout.

We've had a fake tree ever since we've had kids mostly because I prefer the convenience. I was always a bit concerned that our kids would catch on that I was lazy and be angry about what they were missing. But my youngest (4) recently discovered that people cut down trees every year and she was horrified that people would be so MEAN to the trees at Christmas. My child would love your decision.

I think we will do a fake tree this year too, just so we can have it up longer. The air is so dry here that even with regular watering, a cut-down live tree just doesn't last more than a couple of weeks. Seems a bit ironic since we literally have a forest of evergreens across the street from us, but it is what it is. And my parents will have a real tree for when we visit there at Christmas.
