The Gifts Of Imperfection E-Course With Brené Brown
Tags:A few weeks ago I woke up to an email from Brené.
Brené and I have been friends for a 6 or 7 years now and my life has been tremendously blessed by her friendship. I have learned so much from her about navigating in this world and being open. Many of you might be familiar with her for her TED Talk or her books.
In her email she wanted to know if I had an interest and availability to come to her home in Houston to shoot a video segment for an online class she was putting together based on her book The Gifts Of Imperfection for Oprah.com.
Whoa.
So after freaking out (as much as I could in my dark office at 6am right before I needed to get my kids up and ready for school) I called my Mom and asked her if she was available to be with the kids (Chris was in China and it was the week of Katie's wedding) and she was willing and able and excited. Thank you Mom.
So I got on the plane with Kelly Rae last Tuesday morning and off we went.

Kelly Rae and I each filmed one segment with Brené that will be included in the content of the workshop. It was so cool to get to do something together.
In the segment I filmed with Brené we talk about everyday life photography as my personal gratitude practice. We talk about Week In The Life and why I do everyday life documentation. We talk about resilience and the beauty of the simplest things in our everyday life. It's at the heart of what I d0 and I was so, so honored to be included in this project.

To be honest my most favorite part of the experience was simply hanging out with the two of them on the couch in the evening, eating dinner together and downloading where each of us are at in our lives right now. These are some of my truest friends and I was so lucky to get to spend a couple days with them.
You can read Brené's post about filming and find out all the details about the e-course here.
PS |While I'm working today I'm listening to her audio CD The Power of Vulnerability: Teachings on Authenticity, Connection, and Courage. It is so, so good and really in-depth.

What a great opportunity for you....... This class seems like a life changer, a chance to focus on oneself..... Seeing as my one little word is FOCUS, this class is going to be a great opportunity to get in touch and refocused on my word.
