Week In The Life™ 2019 | Friday Words + Photos

Ah, Friday. We made it to the weekend.

I totally feel like Anna looks in the photo above and am ready for a bit of a different rhythm this weekend. I've got a little work to do Saturday morning and then Anna has a soccer game and on Sunday we are heading down to my parents at the coast to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom.

Today's lens was High/Low. I didn't really stick with this one as much as I have with some of the others and am giving my space to roll it. There weren't a lot of lows - this was a really decently awesome Friday and definitely felt like a summer kick off.

Here's a look at our day:

I watered some thirsty plants this morning (waiting to be planted) before doing the morning drive. I dropped Simon off first this morning so he could meet with a teacher in a class he's struggling with and then dropped Anna off and walked into school with her (per her request). I love walking her into school because I get to say hi to friends who work there and friends who are also dropping off. It's a nice way to start the day with friendly faces.

This was a definite high point of my day.

All the love to this person who spoke up and gave me this gift.

Things are good around here.

Got a hug and poured myself another cup of coffee before heading upstairs to work on filming projects.

Downstairs again for another cup of coffee (yeah, not an awesome pattern right now).

While I was down there Aaron and I launched into the beginnings our of conversations about summer screen time scenarios. I brought this up on my Instagram post and there were some really awesome suggestions that you can check out here

After that detour I pretty much spent the rest of the day until 2pm working on projects in my office before heading back out again to pick up Anna and friends for an after-school hang out.

Today their class had a field trip to do a community service project at a local garden.

I took them to get ice cream from the grocery store.

While they hung out in the backyard practicing Hamilton songs (yes, that's awesome) I worked on a couple more projects in my office.

Love this view out the girl's bedroom window.

Yep, this makes me happy.

Simon gets out early from school on Fridays.

He texted Aaron and I when he got home that he was riding his bike to the pool (which is now open for the summer) and that he'd be back around 6pm. He's very punctual.

When he got back he told us that he wanted to go back to school tonight to watch someone he knew in the school play.

Love that he likes to show up and support people he knows.

These guys are loving the weather.

I'm totally a fan of having a whole crew of kids over here and I love it when they make up crazy games.

No one was hurt.

Yeah, it's good. And yeah, he's so tall.

I love how they are in the backyard, then the front yard, then the park and then back again to the front yard.

Isaac and his buddy playing a made-up game similar to Dungeons + Dragons. Love listening to them from the couch while I watched the Golden State/Rockets basketball game.

Again, the more the merrier.

Fridays are for sunshine and sleepovers and running through the sprinklers and playing at the park until dark and friends and sisters and being silly.

Here's to the weekend!

Saturday's story lens is "celebrating" and Sunday's is "giving thanks."

Love these pictures! The ones of all the kids outside make me miss those days with all the kids in the house and the playing and laughter. But celebrating my life with older kids too. ❤️

Just catching up on blog reading. I love this, when I was younger I thought I would be the mom that had all of the kids over at my house. My almost 16 year old has never wanted someone over. I wonder if it will be different with my younger group of 3 gents. I love the stories the pictures capture.
