December Daily® 2020 | Story Nine

Welcome to  December Daily® 2020 | Story Nine.

For today's story I decided to document a few things related to my phone right now. I took three screenshots and added them to a tag book I created when I put my foundation pages together. I love bringing in everyday life stories like this into my project. These tags are a perfect place to hold all kinds of stories and the story you choose might be totally different - make it work for you!

Let's start with the process video:

Here's a look at how it turned out:

When I put my foundation pages together a couple months ago I knew I wanted to create a little tag book using two of the wood veneer pieces from the Main Kit. I didn't know what kind of story I would end up adding but I knew I could figure something out. As I considered stories for today I decided I wanted to document a bit about what I've been into on my phone lately.

One of the changes I made from my foundation pages was adding in a  Grafix Transparent Sheet that slips into the transparent pocket (that was from the 2019 December Daily® collection). I added this sheet mainly because I wanted space for a title but it also holds it in place in the album a bit better.

I cut out the "on my phone" word art using my  Silhouette and adhered it using rolling adhesive onto the transparent sheet along with a tiny red felt heart. I've included the word art for you below as a free download.

Download the free digital word art here.

On the inside of this tag booklet I added screenshots. I did one of my Home Screen, one of a text with Anna, and one of a recent  New York Times crossword (I'm obsessed). The screenshots went into my photo library and I cropped them to 3x4 before printing.

For my journaling I decided to use the space on the back of the tags. I repeat stamped a date stamp along the top and then used a  Brush Pen for my actual journaling.

I love including glimpses of messages and other, I guess what I’d call digital ephemera, in my albums. A sign of the times. Thank you for the freebie ☺️

I do not know what I was doing this year! I thought I was being practical, but I really wish I had bought the main kit as I always do! I love this years kit! I love the alpha stamp, the felt letters, just everything! It’s just one year, and I will live, but I wish I had bought some of these items!

But Ali, what I really want to say is just how light and relaxed you seem on these daily videos! I’ve been here for some years, and love these videos, but this year, there is just such lightness in you! Really enjoying everything this year! I just really love to hear your ease and joy right now. Are you feeling it in yourself? I hope so! Loving this project more than ever. I no longer can imagine my life without DD and OLW. Both have added so much joy and growth to my life! I feel much gratitude to you, Ali. Thank you for all your offerings! Love, Laurie

I love the phone picture idea since I’m on it so much! How did you take screenshots with the white background? I am not Computer savvy at all and I send my photos to persnickety prints to print. Any suggestions and how I can get that look?

That's just what my screen looks like. You can adjust the background - I just like it super plain.

Thank you! I wanted to document my grandkids use of my phone and this is the perfect prompt. I was going to scrap-lift but the more I think about it I will have to do something bigger. Will scrap-lift for another story, lol! The digital file is perfect. Merry Christmas!

Love the larger size of your clear organizer tray, and that the dividers are removable for larger spaces. Where is that from? thx

Hi! I got it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3n89Z5H. It's designed for embroidery floss but I just took those pieces out. You can move the dividers around to create larger spaces.

Ali is this the last page? I was trying to get to the next one but it takes me to another album...not DD. Thank you...

Love this idea. How did you attach the shipping tags together so the folded out like that?

Playing catch up. Loving the videos so helpful & the perfect thing to put on as I work on my 2019 book in Jan. Helps keep me in the right Christmas frame of mind. Is also gloriously distracting right now! thanks so much for all the work you put into your videos.
