Stories By The Month™ | 2024 Changes
Tags:
We are excited to reveal new changes to our Stories By The Month™ subscription for 2024 starting with our January themed kit which launches Sunday, December 10th, 2023.
The 2024 monthly kits will consist of:
(8) 3x4 and (6) 4x6 Cardstock Journal Cards
(8) 3x4 and (6) 4x6 Vellum Journal Cards
4x6 Chipboard sheet
4x6 Sticker Sheet
Variety Die Cut Paper Pack
The biggest change you will see this year is that we are removing the 3x4 stamp from the kit and will be offering it to subscribers as an add-on. Moving forward this change will mean that the new SBTM add-on stamps will be consistent with the quality of the stamps we sell in the shop. Our goal with removing the stamp from the kit is to be able to provide you with a higher quality product, as well as an opportunity to choose the stamp if you would like to purchase it, since not everyone participates in stamping in our community.

For those of you who were fans of the bigger 6x8 paper sizes included in the 2023 kits, we will have a quarterly offering of a 6x8 Seasonal Specialty Paper Pack (sized at page protector dimensions of 7x8.25 in) available as an add-on. These papers were designed to coordinate with the first three themes for 2024 (January, February, and March). The next 6x8 Seasonal Specialty Paper Pack will be available with April's theme that goes live in March of 2024.
Each Quarterly Paper pack will consist of:
(2) 7x8.25 in Cardstock papers
(2) 7x8.25 in Vellum sheets
(2) 7x8.25 in Transparencies.
Our Customer Service team is happy to help with any questions or concerns. Please reach out by Friday, December 8th to make any changes to your subscription.

INSPIRATION BY THE MONTH™

We are also excited to announce that we will be adding a new lesson into the Inspiration By The Month™ classroom each month from a Guest Storyteller from the community, similar to what we offer in the Story Class classroom. This online class subscription will continue to include the digital version of Stories By The Month™ and inspirational lessons using both the physical and digital kit by members of the Ali Edwards community. All physical Stories By The Month™ kit subscribers will be continue to receive access to the Inspiration By The Month™ class content as part of your subscription. Physical Stories By The Month™ kit subscribers will still have the opportunity to add on the digital Stories By The Month™ kit to their orders for $5 during the add-on period.

I seem to be in the minority but I am really disappointed with the changes. The additional cards are nice and a great change, but I rarely use velium and have never used velium in 3x4 or 4x6 size. I have no idea what I would even do with 14 velium cards each month.
I am also going to miss the variety of embellishments we have gotten in the past. Die cuts are fine here and there but I don't think I want just die cuts. I enjoyed having different textures to use in my spreads and I am going to miss the wooden, felt, acetate, and other embellishments we have recieved in the past.
I am happy that the stamp quality is returning because I have loved using the stamps in my journal. I am not overly thrilled about having to spend more to get them. It actually is more disappointing because not only am I going to spend more to get the stamp but I have to stay subscribed to a kit I am not thrilled about just to get access to the add-on stamp.

You're not alone. I've been doing SBTM since the beginning and will be sad to stop, but I don't do Project Life style documenting and I don't use the cards.
I considered stopping my subscription last year; however, with the addition of the 6x8 papers I decided to stay and love them...not enough to pay for things that I won't use just to get the stamps and 6x8 packs as add-ons.
Oh well, nothing lasts forever.
I'm disappointed, because I got the kit specifically for the stamps, ha! I have one more month left in my subscription and am keeping an open mind until I get the kit. I don't use the cards much, though, as I'm a paper and stamp girly. I think many of the ladies are Project Life alumni, so it makes sense that they're excited about the changes, but I'm sad to see the stamps go!

So loving these changes! I do pocket scrapbooking so the 6x8 and 3x8 papers haven't been a thing I'd use. I also really disliked how many plastic bags we got each month. A single sheet of paper in a plastic bag was ridiculous. I'm happy that the papers and stamps will be an option for those who want them. I love the new kit with more cards and embellishments. The die cuts are fabulous! I'll miss the kraft envelope with the string tie.

I love the changes for 2024. This year in my 9 x 12 monthly album I was short journaling cards most months, and pulled in a lot of older kits as well as the stories of fall and other mini collections. So happy there are more journaling cards! Thinking how to use the vellum ones creatively, other than just backing them with white paper :)
I will still buy the 6 x 8 paper add on as I loved that for my 6 x 8 story album too. Also looking forward to Inspiration by the Month continuing.

I subscribed initially for the stamp set, and was thrilled with the addition of the 6x8 papers! This seems to have morphed into more of a pocket page subscription, and I don't use page protectors, other than the occasional December Daily page, so I will likely not continue my subscription. The majority of comments seem to favor the change, so it's wonderful that you're in tune with so many of your customers!
In the future, would you be open to thinking about curating a subscription for those of us who like to play with paper and ink and the more crafty aspects of memory keeping? I lean towards wanting to create my own pages, rather than sticking something pre-made by someone else into a plastic sleeve, although I understand the convenience and instant gratification of it, especially when time is at a premium!

Thank you for the changes. I was concerned about those stamps that I never use. I have so many along all those years of SBTM.
Love the inspiration class too. Can’t wait to receive January.

Looks like I'm in the minority. I unsubscribed because I don't use the cards hardly ever. I loved the mix of embellishments and the 6X8 papers, I did use the stamps too. So the things I liked have all been removed from the kit, and now the things I do use I'd have to add on and pay more. Made my decision easy.

Would I be able to purchase the january kit without subscribing?

Not a SBTM subscriber, but a story kit subscriber, will I have the opportunity to add-on the 6x8 papers? Love those

Two things 1) are the cards 2 sided so that they are both portrait and landscape oriented? 2) Is there anywhere we can see samples or ideas of people using this that are NOT using the PL albums? I'm more in a TN now so would love some inspiration but I'm looking to mix up my systems for 2024 and do something new so this totally resonates with me.

Will anything be added to this kit since the price will remain the same and there are things being taken out of the kit?
