December Daily® 2024 | Story 10
Tags:Welcome to Story 10 in my 2024 December Daily® project.
I had a little anxiety breakdown this morning and, honestly, writing about it helped. So many of us are juggling so many different things this time of year and my anxiety feels really "extra" right now. I know I am not alone in those feelings. Sending each and every one of you love today as you navigate things in your own life.
To tell my story I'm paring a photo + some words on the scalloped 4x4 cards from the Main Kit. To add my title and story number I embossed on a piece of folded vellum that is adhered between scalloped cards (I'll be using those as the base for my story tomorrow).
Here's a look at the process:
Here's some additional photos:
Today I'm using the cardstock page attachers to add scalloped tags from the Main Kit into my album.
To create the vellum covers I folded a 4 inch tall piece of vellum and then cut off the excess along the outside edge. I adhered the vellum in between the layers of scalloped journal cards.
I used the Numbers Are Awesome #7 stamp set for the number 10.
I printed my photo 3.25 inch x 3.25 inch and adhered it to the 4x4 scalloped card. I also ran it through the sewing machine to add the stitching.
I used the Alpha + Number 4x6 Stamp Set for the bottom section. The star stamp is from Holiday Icons Stamp Set.
I printed my journaling on white paper and added it to the journal card. I love use the plus sign for the word "and" and turning it red.
I also ended up adding a photo to the outside of Story 12 (what you see under the pieces for today. I had printed the photo out a couple days ago and it fit well on top of the foundation page I have set up. More details on that when we get to Story 12.

It’s a lot this time of year! I was feeling the stress today too- and some sadness. So good to journal it out and talk to your partner. We’re all in this together! Thank you for sharing and your honesty. Sending love your way too. ❤️

I am feeling it too. So many changes going on and stress of just getting the little things done. I sat and let it all out and felt better. Thank you for always sharing and being honest with us. Big hugs and love to you.

Love how this turned out!
As always, thank you for the transparency. I think we all have those times, even if we don't always admit it. I know menopause has not helped those times lol. I know it helps me to look back on the documenting and see that I did get through those moments and that they aren't forever.

I could probably copy wor for word your journaling. We just got back from a trip and of course we got sick so now I don’t want to do a thing. Might be a treeless year.

Ali, I recently went to talk by a doctor (Dr Brighthope - yes that's really his name) here in Australia and he talked about staying healthy. He mentioned that everyone should have a pet/pets and all the benefits of that. He says its a "non-negotiable" for good health. Thanks for inspiring me to write about that in my DD. Also, loving your you tubes!

Love this page! And feeling all those feels too, even if I’m always lowering expectations for myself at this time of year, because I know it can be a lot… As a side note, I’ve been wanting to say how much I love your little intro to your daily videos: the joy of the children, the happy dance and the bouncing make me smile every single time I see them!!

I was in bed at 7:30 the other night because I was mentally zapped - I. Was. Done. There is no shame in needing rest - but I also get the conundrum of having things to do while needing that break. Also, I have decided I NEED big number stamps. I keep thinking about adding them to my SBTM box and never do.
Also, Ali - I feel for you. This is your job and so you have to share something. But...what if that something is stuff you don't WANT to broadcast (whether it's a hard thing or a good thing). Do you ever do edited journaling for the site but then have the REAL story in your album after you've recorded?

I too, had a day of feeling very sad and anxious and moved from wrapping to laundry to trying to work on my DD which only has one page completed so far. I could have had a very constructive day, but it just got kind of wasted by my inability to concentrate or feel very happy. Thank you for the "permission" to make it a story.

Definitely a relatable story! I've been sick with a nasty head/chest cold since the week before Thanksgiving + I just can't shake it! It's definitely making my cup feel extra full with all there is to accomplish this month. A good practice in letting things go + prioritizing the most important things to us.
Somewhat random question...what font are you using for your journaling here? Is it a typewriter font that has a "+"? I've been using Remington Noiseless for years, but it doesn't allow for a "+" which has been a bummer to me as this is also how I've started writing "and". Thanks!
