Hi friends! Jill here. Today I have a Q&A story for you about how my son is into playing Magic the Gathering and is always giving me answers to questions I didn't ask about the game or turning a simple question I've asked about this day into a long winded explanation into the mechanics of the cards.

I chose to start my layout with the card that says "sometimes it takes a long time to understand an answer" because I almost always get completely lost when he's explaining the game to me. But still, I want to keep asking the questions and listening to what he's into no matter how confused I am with the answer.

For this project, I did something I NEVER do. I made a full page 12x12 layout! I think having all of those 12x12 papers in the kit inspired me to use them as a canvas. And I really loved how the three 3x4 cards looked stacked on one side.

I printed out my journaling on vellum and stitched it to one of the papers in the ki. Then I transformed that paper into a tag by cutting off the two top corners and adding a ribbon on top. This helped it to feel more balanced inside the blue grid.

I stitched along the 3x4 cards with hot pink thread to pull in that color on the Q&A title piece. And I really love how the "questions" and "answers" paper pieces look layered over the plastic Q and A. The added bonus is that it helps to glue the plastic pieces down without stitching or staples!

To add a photo of my son to this layout, I used the "so many questions" paper as a frame for my photo and adhered it to the blue cross vellum directly over where the journaling paper is on the page below.

I originally adhered my photo on the vellum with adhesive tape but hated that you could see it from the other side, so I pulled it up and stitched it instead.

You can hear all about that adventure and the moment I caught a typo in my journaling in the process video below. LOL.

I hope you enjoyed my project and my story! You can follow along with my other crafting adventures on Instagram (@jill.drangsholt).
