Story Play Dogs + Cats | Special Guest Nolana Lynch

Hi Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my Story Play project for the theme - Cats and Dogs!

Our precious dog Zoe was a big part of our lives - and was especially a comfort dog for me during the pandemic (circa 2020 - 2022). She passed away in September 2022 and I wanted to create a layout in memory of her. Please view the process video with all the details of how this layout came together.

Zoe LOVEDDD the beach! She loved burrowing her head in the sand, rolling in it - she just had the best time there, so I used this photo of her on the beach and added a raised 3D title with her name.

I also added embellishments to the base - as I thought this dog kid of looked like her lol. I layered these pieces with vellum below. I love the black and white vellum, and thought it would be great to carry through on both sides of the layout.

The other side of the layout was inspired by the chipboard circle pieces. I used them as tabs and created a layered folder with photos and journaling. The vellum being the cover with this beautiful quote about dogs.

The photos are layered back to back and staggered on two pieces of acetate. I love how they're floating over the journaling behind. The tabs are also attached so that they all interlock with each other.

I also printed two of each chipboard piece so that the back of it has the same piece. This can be mix and matched if you were recreating this page and preferred to mix it up a bit.

For the back I added blocks of journaling and a photo in the top piece as well as the dates of her life.

All in all, I loved being able to honour a bit of her life through doing this layout. It was truly nostalgic remembering her running through our halls with so much joy. She also loved spending time in my craft room - sitting by my feet all day! Those were the days!
