Story Play Gratitude | Special Guest Nolana Lynch

Hi Everyone!

Happy Gratitude Documenting! This is Nolana Lynch (aka nehlan.has.a.plan on Instagram) and I love gratitude journaling and this Story Play kit is such a great way to creatively document the things we are grateful for during this month.

For this layout, I collected a few of my favourite photos from the month of October, and created a 9x12 layout in my Project Life album.

Please do check out the process video, where I bring this layout together:-

Initially I wanted to use the physical journal cards for this layout, with my handwriting, but as I counted the spaces where I desired to put journal cards, I realised I’d need a couple more, so I chose to use the digitals, pop them in to Canva, add in the ones I needed that matched the colors in the photos, and in that moment realised it would be much simpler to type the journaling in.

Once I printed these, cut them down using my trimmer and tucked them in to the pockets, I decided to play with the patterned paper and transparencies to create a few things.

First, I used a strip of journaling on the floral paper, and stitched it down, as well as added chipboard pieces to bring that side all together.

When I created a shaker page with the transparency, I ended up with a second border on this side and I quite like how that turned out.

For the pocket, I used a family photo, and added a yellow scallop washi to three edges. I then stitched around the three edges.

I cut the “Current Gratitudes” paper down and created tags using my crop-a-dile and a variety of ribbons. I love how fun this looked! I also love that they all fall just below the word Thankful on the top of the transparency. This shaker page with a pocket was so fun to put together!

I used a variety of eyelets - different colour and shapes as well! All in all, it makes me so happy to look at it!

For the last part of this layout, I used a mix of the labels to create little embellishments on the photos. I cut them in two, and wrote with my marker brief words that suited how I felt about the photo.

All in all, I love how this turned out and I can’t wait to see all your Gratitude Documenting this month!

Cheers and I am so very grateful for you!!! I’d love to connect with you - you may find me on instagram.com/nehlan.has.a.plan or youtube.com/nolanalynch@gmail.com

Until Next time!

Nolana
