December Daily® 2025 | Ali’s Story 05

Welcome to Story 05 in my 2025 December Daily® project.

As I looked at the photos I've taken so far this month these three bokeh variations of my tree (from playing with the manual settings in the ProCamera app) felt like a lovely representation of the story I want to tell today about letting it be enough.

Let's dive in to the process video:

Here are additional details:

This page started as a full canvas in Photoshop (11 inches wide x 8.25 inches tall) that I broke into three sections for my three tree photos (each section is about 3.6 inches wide). After that I created a white box on top and added my story before printing here at home on my Epson XP15000 printer.

The idea I had was to print my journaling + the box (it ended up about 10 inches wide x 1.75 inches tall) directly onto my photo and then cut a slit along the top in order to create a flip-up cover for my journaling using my craft knife.

I cut a piece of pattern paper (folded with the pattern on the inside) to fit the height of my journaling box and then added the gathering of the banners, the ribbon, and the fabric numbers.

I turned all the banners over and used washi tape to hold them together. I ended up adding one of the tags with a tree on it from the vintage set on top and cutting it out.

Here are some images of the completed story:

My friend Jill sent me a fun collection of some ribbons she had in her stash so I decided to use this red/cream one on top. I really liked the frayed edges on this one. You could easily use pattern paper in place of the ribbon or even print the print the photo twice and have the photo itself flip up reveal the journaling box.

Under the flap I added a puffy star sticker from the Advent Calendar and added "let it be enough" as a little title on one of the banners from this set.

I also tucked one mini magnet in between the pattern paper and ribbon on each end of the flip up (and on the back) so it will lay flay in my album.

Feeling very ready to just be present right here at home.
