Kicking Off My 2026 10x8 Scrapbook Project
Tags:
In today's post I'm sharing a look at how I'm setting up my 10x8 album for 2026. I'll be using pieces from our Stories By The Month™ kit subscription and our quarterly Storyteller Kit subscription. I love a little bit of organization in the beginning and then a lot of room to document both inside and outside of page protectors throughout the year.
I followed a similar approach for 2025 and you can see what my albums for 2025 look like here:
I'm still happily working on telling 2025 stories from September through December and will share more as I work on them in the coming months.
Here's a video where I share my set up and some ideas:
And here are some images of my set up:

Each month will begin with a monthly transparency stitched to a cut up 4-pocket 3x4 page protector. I did this last year with 2x2-pocket page protectors and I loved starting off each month with a bunch of photos of flowers or artwork.
Here's how that looked in my 20245 album:

If you like the look of the simpler monthly divider transparency we have some of those available as well.
The next page I'm setting up for my album is a 6 pocket page protector. This will hold the three monthly cards from each Stories By The Month™ kit.

This page might not end up being the second page for each month but it will be a foundation I can include to capture some stories each month.
I just got the February Stories By The Month™ kit here at my house so here's a look at what I'm adding to those pockets right now (available on Jan 10th).

You can put journal cards or sentiment cards or photos into those pockets.

There are a few more days to sign up for Stories By The Month™ in order to start with the January kit. Our February kit will release on January 10th. You can sign up for Stories By The Month™ here.
To help you decide if this feels like a good kit for you in 2026 I'm including a preview image of the February kit and a short video below.

Here's a first look at what will be included in the February Stories By The Month™ kit! I had so much fun designing these kits last year and am excited to share them with you throughout 2026.

I loved the January kit and I have to say the February one is amazing! So happy to have changed my month to month subscription to a year subscription! I would love to have a peek at the storyteller too if you have the time. Thank you so much for all you are doing Ali.

Thanks Ali, After all this time I’ve never actually thought to set up a formula at the start of the year for my yearly album. A great idea and such wonderful invitations to tell stories.

Such a happy surprise to see this today right as I was sitting down to set up my album as well! This year I’m trying the 10x8 format for my annual project instead of 9x12 PL and I couldn’t be more excited! Going to be a good year of storytelling :)

I got the January kit on Wednesday and hoped some of the cards would repeat throughout the year. I am so happy to see that it is happening! Thank you! Both kits are really awesome!

Ali this is great, thanks for sharing your set up. Where can I find the 3x4 cards that say "the story" in rainbow-ish font? These are on page above with the clear June monthly transparency divider?

Hi! Those were part of the Colors Storyteller Kit. It's available here: https://www.aliedwards.com/shop/storyteller-kit-colors

Can I get some tips on printing the dividers on transparency? I am using an Epson 5200 inkjet w/inkjet transparency - they take forever to dry and the lighter months don't show up well at all....just wondering if it's something I'm doing. I can confirm I'm printing on the correct side of the transparency - lol.

Thanks for the peek at the start of your 2026 album! For the six-ring albums that you are using and sell in the shop - is there a multi-hole punch you recommend for the pages you add in (the content outside of page protectors)? I didn't see anything available in your shop, and while I love my single-hole handheld punch, I was interested in something more efficient. =)
