Story Play | Yesterday + Today Album Class Walkthrough
Tags:At the beginning of the week I mentioned my original Yesterday + Today workshop.
As I was putting my projects together for this week I kept thinking about that class and that album and wanted to take a little stroll back through those projects and bring you along with me.
There's a whole video montage in the first lesson with photos of my ancestors paired with photos of my childhood paired with photos of myself in that particular season back in 2009 (originally I was convinced it was 2011 but nope, it was 2009). I re-listened to that welcome video and I heard myself and it was like meeting myself all over again at a specific point in time.
Before divorce, before Aaron, before blending families, before dementia.
I was so young and man did I love what I was getting to do.
Look at this little promo email for the workshop:

When I put this class together I was 35 and now I'm 50 and well, just, wow.
The stories within the stories. The present then is now the past. My today then is now my yesterday. This has been my life. This is my life.
Let's take a walk together back through this album and also take a peek inside the classroom:
This class is still available for you to take at your own pace and there are process videos, handouts, and instructions for each of the projects. There is honestly so much content in there that is still relevant and universal today. There's also a digital package of layered templates, word art, etc available here.

I've been looking for a way to get "into" older stories for a few months now based on a big handoff of photos my mom brought me from my early early years, and Monday's blog post reminded me this is a class I have in my catalog. I've been enjoying beginning again. The reminder to let go of perfection is real!

I took Y&T when it was very first offered many years ago and it remains my favorite class of yours ever. I think I need to repeat it. Love this so much!

I was 50 when I took the class. It was an incredible journey as I spent my final months with my mother, capturing her stories. Cannot recommend the class enough.

I bought this class long ago and just loved it. Seeing these older pages and your reactions to them is a reminder that this is what it’s all about! Plus seeing some styles and products you used just takes me back to that era in scrapbooking!! Ahhhh!!! 🥰

Oh I'm going to dig out my layouts from this class and grab a coffee and sit and read them all! Thanks for prompting us to revisit this.

Dear Ali, You were here in the Netherlands for a workshop back in January 2007. A mini-tag album class called: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Always. Here is a direct link to the scanned mini-album.
https://eminepala.blogspot.com/2007/01/another-mini-album.html
Even-though I lost all the files and physical memories, glad I have the pictures on my old blog (too small unfortunately)... These mini-albums I miss so much from you. It can be made in a day, especially if you have low energy or not want to make (for any reason) a whole album with huge pictures or an album. You are amazing in big project storytelling, but also in tiny simple design story telling that is so meaningful.
Hope you bring those little workshops back. Where less is more...

Looking back at old projects can be such a meaningful experience because they capture who we were at that moment in life. It's amazing how a photo or a video can bring back memories and remind us how much we've grown over the years. I discovered https://topbet.com.ro/ while reading about creative journaling, and it inspired me to revisit some of my own past work.
