Mom was here for a visit this weekend. The woman is amazing.
She comes here to hang out with us and always ends up cooking and cleaning and helping us out. Of course, we are not complaining - we are so very thankful to have her here. She went grocery shopping with me and Simon on Saturday morning (my favorite time to go). Cool to have her there - she always has such great ideas for things to cook. And truth be told, I just really like having her around. No matter what we are doing. I just like her.
She is a gem.
When we came back from the store she cooked up some beef stew for us to eat this week (that rocks) and made swiss steak for dinner. She played with Simon. Drank a beer with me at dinner. Ate popcorn with us (a total family thing - which of course we had for our Sunday dinner tonight too). This morning she put a little white cabinet together for me that had been sitting in the mudroom for months. I caught her pulling weeds outside while she played with Simon. She took him for a walk around the neighborhood. She threw the ball for Lily.
She would have folded clothes if she could have found them.
But she didn't even do any scrapbooking this time. I love that she is getting into it - it is fun to share products with her and be excited about creating things together. Hoping she can come to a CKU with me later this year.

The photo tonight is what I look at when I am sitting at my computer. Our grocery store had these awesome tulips - such a great color mixture.

Awww she sounds fantastic! My Mom is like that too- cleans the place up- it may be cleanwhen she comes to visit but she finds every little nook and cranny to tidy up. There's something special about Moms. Enjoy your beef stew this week.

My mum is so much like that too. She never sits down. Is always keeping busy doing one thing or another. Then again my Dad is like that too!

Wow, how lucky you and your mother are to have each other. I totally GET your post - my mom is the same way. She still works but tries to visit us regularly and brings food, cooks, cleans, brings toys and clothes for my daughter, has pretend tea parties and shares giggles with my daughter. I am always amazed at her energy, and how renewed I feel after having her here. And I am always sorrowful to see her go. God bless our wonderful mothers.

Hey Ali---love those tulips. They've been my favorite flower for years now! Give me those over roses any day! Beautiful color, too. So glad that you had a wonderful visit with your mom...wish I could say I have that kind of relationship with mine, but unfortunately we don't get along at all and rarely speak these days. You make me wish that things were different. At least I have a wonderful mother-in-law who makes up for it. She is great and we have tons of fun together...she is very much like your mom, loves to cook for us and straightens up whenever she comes over...a giant help to have around!
