Gotta love...

• Hanging out with my friends Cheryl, Michelle, & Lisa while attacking 85 garage sales. Yes, 85.Can you imagine? It was incredible. I had a $10 cash budget and came home with: a new electric wok, a tin of Tinkertoys, 3 pairs of 3T jeans from The Gap & Old Navy, and a wire frame for a lamp shade that I will use as a basket.
• Getting some layouts completed finally.
• Ordering and receiving photos from Scrapbookpictures.com.
• Watching Hotel Rwanda and Kinsey. Two powerful, thought-provoking movies. Hotel Rwanda makes me want to do something. Learn more about human rights issues...something. We live in such a fantasy land in comparison with so much of the world. Totally on my mind.
• Thanks for all the nice comments on the albums & classes. Glad some of you are able to sign up. And thanks for the suggestions & encouragement about online classes. It is not something I can manage right now...but maybe at some point in the future. If your local store is interested in having me come teach these classes feel free to email me. My schedule is filling up quickly for the rest of the year...but I am always willing to chat about potential possibilities.
Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Have to be in the mood for rumage sales or those types of places but such a JOY to come home with such cool finds. Kudos to you on your quest!

Oh man...I'm SO jealous! You made a haul at garage sales!! And LOL @ the $10 budget! It's amazing what you can buy for $10 at sales!!! I'm kicking myself cuz yesterday I went Kohls in search of three things (shoes for Wendy, a hat for Brian and clothes for me) and struck out. 1,2,3. There was a sub sale across the street, and I just KNOW I would have had better luck there. I should have trusted my instincts and gone that route instead. Kicking myself.
that's my novel, and I'm sticking to it. LOL

I totally understand what you are saying about Hotel Rwanda... I just watched this a couple of weeks ago and was astounded. I kept asking myself "Where was I when this was going on??? How could I have been so oblivious to it???". I can't believe I had no idea that total genocide happened there. It made me feel very ignorant. 1 million people died! Unfortunately that part of the world is terribly unstable and many of the countries are involved in civil unrest or out and out civil war today; right now. Togo, Darfor, Zimbabwe, just to list a few have had many atrocities occur recently. As I listen to the stories regarding these areas on NPR my heart just aches for these people. We are so fortunate to live in a place where we are safe.

You know what struck me about Kinsey? How uncomfortable it me feel. That social taboos about s-e-x still really exist and NOTHING has changed from 60 years ago. The prejudice and the weariness of the topic as discussed then, still applies now. Weird, huh?

85!!! that's quite a feat. i live around the corner from a thrift store and found 6 different-sized baskets (and one super large picnic basket). I'm ditching my plastic storage bins and going for that shabby-chic look. I spent $8!!! total score, huh? {betcha i would have spent $60 or more for brand new baskets).

Congrats on the great bargains you found! Wow! I would have been depressed if all I had was $10 to hit so many sales, but you knew exactly what you were doing! :)
Sounds like you should teach some classes about smart shopping!

I felt the same way after watching Hotel Rwanda! I wondered if I should join the Peace Corps or something! It should be required watching for every person on this planet.

Never saw either of those flicks, but I'll have to check them out. Fraiser reruns are getting boring.
I see more A's in that picture...Lucky lady you are!!!

when I watched Hotel Rwanda I almost got physically ill. I sat in the movie theater torn between getting up and running to Rwanda to help, or falling under the chair and bawling!
